origin story
She was born not a Goddess, but something akin to one. Born to parents that were similarly exalted as precious deities, Ampoule was celebrated. To deserve such high regard, she was trained from puppyhood in the many holy and saintly arts. From the beginning, she readily received the devotional prayer of others and acted much as a relic, the current legacy of a strong religious line. She became very used to being doted upon, but her mind was soon too sharp to be placated by such a simple existence.
As a yearling, the love for her subjects blossomed in her heart, and so did her interest in the natural world. Plants captivated her, for even if she were a holy being, they affected her corporeal all the same. And such knowledge, which her status gave her access to (in the forms of tutors, practice upon willing patients and time spent in study). It was a way that she could care for the wolves who endeared her so, to complete the cycle of love instead of becoming a vacuous receptacle for something so one-sided. Ampoule soon became associated with the ideals of unconditional love, healing, and nature.
As most tragic stories go, all was not to be fine forever. There was a war, and barriers overrun, and a genocide committed. Before being decimated, her people urged her to flee. Ampoule did – she ran as far and as wide as she could, to the ends of the earth. She found herself on a desolate island, the only place that she finally felt safe. Here she remained for some time, both willingly and unwillingly, a prisoner who found freedom in her isolation. Here she became intimately connected to the magic of the ocean and its waters, in lieu of the willing patienthood she had accrued.
Ampoule didn’t leave her island willingly, but now that she has found herself awakened in Mythris, she will readily admit that she thrives outside of her luxurious, marine life of ease and solitude. Now, she hopes for companionship in which she feels safe and revered, as she once did.
