TOYHOUSE
A tall, petite figure dressed and flecked in an array of peachy golds and pastel reds, highlighted dove grey; a stunning sunrise, the sun in and of herself blessing the land with her presence, with the grace of a crisp autumn leaf dancing from the sky. A long, silky coat especially wild around her "mane", and tuffs on her ear tips.
Speckled liver pads and nose, grey nails, and eyes the deep pink-red of merlot.
Scars:
-A singular line straight down her right eye "|" that she refuses to tell the story on.
Caiaphas was a wild, rambunctious child always bothering the elders for stories and trying to sneak out of the den. She enjoyed following after her parents especially, keen on seeing what the Lord and Lady of Autumn did all day when they left her. Enjoyed chasing after critters she was too clumsy to catch, rolling in all things foul, and swimming.
When she grew to be a cheeky teenager, she was endlessly brash with vanity in spades; prone to staying out late to all night, sneaking places she wasn’t supposed to be with people she shouldn’t have been with doing Forbidden Things, and partying too hard. The Popular Girl, fun and adventurous. Never rebellious or outwardly unkind, just hard-headed and, as the old ladies used to say, needed to get the worst of it out of her system while she was young and restless.
No one could deny she was becoming one of the most hardworking, loyal, cunning beings to grace the Autumn court and growing into a graceful, classy young woman who was never once in her life even late for a lesson or meeting. From a young age she sought to embody all her people were, to give her whole heart into serving the court and pack, and her exemplary efforts earned her the title of Duchess at two years old. It was an unexpected reward, one she’d never wanted and didn’t terribly want bothered with, but nonetheless one she threw her entire being into. If this was the role her people, her parents, thought she would be best suited to weave her saga in, she wouldn’t shirk it. Besides, Duchess Caiaphas sure sounded nice, didn’t it?
She carried her golden chains unflinchingly and aged like a fine wine; moving quickly from chaotic teen to badass queen; classy, brave, and hard to impress. She takes no shit, and is very good at putting on the mask of her choosing and being patient to achieve her goals. This might not be the life she’d have chosen for herself but she’s an Amulet, and she’s from an ancient bloodline whose mastery laid in spinning chronicles, improvising; champion thespians, vehemently willing to rewrite histories and if necessary, themselves….or others.
Caiaphas spent her lifetime being a little bit of everything to the Autumn court, honing her skills so that she might serve Thornhaven to the best of her abilities; keenly favoring being spy and storyteller. She’s a ferocious beast best capable of killing with kindness; fangs in your throat as she hugs you or a bit of poison in your prey. Very careful with her reputation and public appearance, but learned well that being a court spy would offer her a sort of double life, if only she could dance the razor's edge of balancing it all.
She never wanted to get married. Caiaphas was a warm, friendly face in the court; charming, demure, but far too flirtatious and spirited to be tied down. Still, she conceded when her Father put a betrothal before her, knowing it was for the good of Thornhaven. The stingy Summer bastard wasn’t a bad husband, just… boring. So she was good to him (save, perhaps, one or two secret trysts nobody ever found out about), allowed a few litters for the good of her people, kept him happy and let him live a fulfilling life serving the Autumn court. She enjoyed being a parent and mentor, if nothing else about her role, further imprinting her legacy into Thornhaven. One can imagine how…. distraught she was when her poor husband got gored on a solo hunt, found by Caiaphas herself with the smell of berries on his tongue and an antler through his throat. How irresponsible of him, getting drunk and taking on something so large alone….
A sweet, protective Mother who adores her children more than life itself, but far from a pampering helicopter parent. She made sure they had all they needed to thrive, supported them in their dreams as #1 fan and cheered every step of the way, taught them to the best of her ability how to survive in an Amulet’s world; also let them make their own mistakes, get a few bruises if they didn’t listen when she told them Don't Stand On That Wobbly Rock, took no sass without returning it, and knew that sometimes it was best to just sit back and wait for them to come for advice they didn’t think they wanted. She didn’t make up rules of curfews to stifle them with, but always impressed the importance of one's public face. If one did all the right things in exemplary fashion, the few bad calls faded into the background as funny stories.
A whimsical creature of sunshine and rainbows who carefully hides a more stormy side of her; made of heaven and hell, and will act accordingly. Not afraid to get violent or bloody, but prefers to let others do her dirty work if she can shift it to someone trustworthy; largely works from the shadows. Committed to living by plausible deniability.
All too happy to pass on the title of heir to Harvest when she deemed them worthy, and live out the rest of her golden years doing the things she loved. Spying, scheming, partying, whatever she wanted. She’s a studious woman full of sensibility and sin alike, always careful to keep a professional air about her when dealing with Thornhaven matters. Remains readily available to Harvest as council should they need it, but glad to be able to take up spy work more permanently, though she’s never gone terribly long.
Fun Facts:
-She arranged the betrothal of Harvest to Daryn, as she has been long-time friends with Daryn’s mother. She is one of the few wolves who knows the truth about the reasons for the betrothal.
-Picked up a few languages over time and recognizes many others in bits and pieces; Fluent in English, Icelandic, Russian, and Romanian.
-Sleeps when she's tired, eats when she's hungry, all around follows no law but that of her heart when she's on the road; obeys her whims, chases her dreams, indulges every desire.
-Favorite food: Turkey with a side of fermented berries <3 | Least favorite food: Rabbit -- gamy morsels >:(
-Caiaphas’ graduation poem to her mentor (who was notably grey with some brown markings (and greying further in his age by the time Caiaphas was done training, a fact she pointed out at every new silver strand until tacking him with the nickname mouse), the quiet proud type with never a strand of fur out of place and a stickler for following rules, but a bubbly and fun personality):
By whose judgment do I pass
Into autumns grasp I go
This beast of dirt and ash (queue “did she say ass” whispers)
I might be better learning solo
Attended lessons day in night out
Honed my skills to a razor sharp blade
Mousey there's no reason to pout
No more time for your crusade
My mind is keen and I'm ready to make my way
Your head is heavy your senses fading
Time to face the brand new day
With a fresh new faun ready for aiding
I'll forever be thankful for all you guided me
But I wish you luck removing your fleas
