origin story
Euphemia was born to Tiberius and Olive, who had recently settled their claim of Duskguard amongst a valley called the Frostfang Vale. Her litter was composed entirely of girls, four in total, and Euphemia was even blessed with a twin named Aurelia. She was raised amongst a sanctum; a place of complete safety. She had the freedom to explore different passions and eventually discovered her own professional pursuit; botany, which she practiced at her mother’s side nearly every day. Everything was fine, until one day it wasn’t.
It hard to say exactly what happened to Euphemia, but one day, she woke up in a different body. She lived amongst a colony, comprised entirely of individuals with a scholarly understanding of the universe that ran far deeper than she. Here, under the tutelage of experts, Euphemia thrived. She expanded her knowledge of plants more than anyone in her lineage had before, and her memory and intuition became a finely-whetted blade. Euphemia missed her family dreadfully, but she eventually became accustomed to life amongst the citadel. Everything was fine, until suddenly, it wasn’t —
Euphemia closed her eyes in a nook, and suddenly, she awoke in a pelt, amongst the lands she had been birthed in. Wildly happy, Euphemia rushed to greet her family to Duskguard in shambles. Her father had similarly disappeared and reappeared, her mother had perished from supposed despair, and two of her younger brothers were gone. Consumed by grief, the four sisters are consistently navigating waters of leadings when they, themselves, still feel like children.
