RE: Birds are singing, and I am following - Eilidh - 4/2/2026

Eilidh watches the bird. It is so cute! She blinks her grey eyes as she tilts her head, looking over to Skoll now as he also seems interested in the bird.

He attempts the call, sounding just as bad and…perhaps even worse than her. She giggles slightly in response, the bird fluttering away to another plant not too far off. He tries again and it is somehow even worse, with him pretty much choking on the air! Eilidh gasps a bit.

”Are you o-o-kay?” she asks, her small form taking a few steps closer to him. He semed to be okay in that moment, and has a sigh of relief before sitting on her haunches again.

”It is h-h-ard…but I have n-never heard a b-b-ird howl! Maybe t-they try and are j-just as b-b-ad as us,” she muses, turning her head back towards the direction where the bird was at now. It is getting pretty far, and Eilidh took that as their calls were complete failures.

RE: Birds are singing, and I am following - Skoll - 4/23/2026

Skoll snorts mostly at himself. The sound was so bad! He'd even managed to chase the little bird away some.

I'm okay. he replies to her.

Well, at least he knows he wont be good at mimicking in the future. No leading prey that way, that's for sure.

He watches the bird on the branch. Do they howl? Skoll doesn't think he's ever heard one try, either. Could they tempt a bird into a howl? Maybe a smart one? What birds are smart, even?

Maybe. a contemplating look crosses his face. I want to see a bird try to howl. It would be funny.

She tilts her head as she continues to look out at the bird. She can still hear it sing, just further away. Her face reflects her contemplation. Had this bird even heard a howl before? Maybe they could speak wolf if they really wanted! Eilidh grinned suddenly at the thought.

”M-m-aybe we h-h-ave to teach it,” she lets her wide eyes glance over at Skoll, tail slightly patting the ground beside her. He seemed nice enough so far! He tried to sing the song of the birds, even if it didn’t work out. It was better than nothing! Her parents and siblings always praised her for even the smallest attempts at doing anything…and she couldn’t imagine trying to get at life without that. She would have died by now, she knows it!

She gulps as her ears pull back a bit, turning to look back at the bird now with a curious glow. Eilidh lifts her head up and lets out a little howl. It is light and airy, carried across the wind delicately. Her howling voice was quite nice and pleasant to the ears. She lowers her head quickly lifting her head to see if the bird replies with a howl.

”That is a howl, birdy! That is how wolves sing! she said, with a strange touch of confidence and her stutter disappearing…for but a moment. Her look was hopeful, but she only heard the regular song of the bird in reply.
