RE: {Leadership Vote} Swallow your kombucha and cry - Monty - 3/2/2026

The meeting call had dragged him out of his hiding place, he showed up with his head low, practiced scowl upon his face that usually kept most at a safe distance. He stuck to the edge of the gathering crowd, finding a spot where he could see the front without desiring a spotlight. His paws planted like he wasn’t restless. Like his leg didn’t want to bounce with all the noise.

Power. Wisdom. Courage.

Monty’s gaze slid across faces he didn’t know well enough to judge. Nóttin. Aurelia. Euphemia. Brynhild. Names he’d heard, maybe, but not names he could trust. And he realized very quickly he wasn't even sure why he was here.

Everyone else had a rulebook he didn’t get handed, there were histories and loyalties written between the lines and he was supposed to pretend he could read them? His jaw clenched, swallowing the uncertainties down.

skill: orator 1/5 (BWP)

It hadn't taken much for Vidarr to chuff for Reid, swinging his head back towards the summons from Aurelia. Come along, Kærr our Pillars are calling. He'd been pretty sure if they didn't let Reid out of the den he'd tunnel his way through to the core of Mythris. Maybe that was the place where the Dream Visitor lived, where they had been enclosed. Perhaps that was how you looped back through to another life. Who could tell what the world was or would be, and Vidarr wanted to live in this life. With his boy, with Svajonė. So Vidarr had taken Reid out to do a bit of foraging and exploring.

It wouldn't have surprised him too much if Svajone did follow them. Through the winter she'd certainly lost any sort of patience, and she tired of the den too. But he thought she'd healed fairly well, all things considered. So she'd be able to catch up to them, or be hot on their heels. He made sure to clear enough of a path for Reid to not have to stumble over. Sometimes it was worthwhile to be so huge. Today we vote for who you want to be a Pillar. Vidarr explained. It was obvious they were not the firsts to arrive, and his gleaming eyes ran across all those gathered. .As they arrived, Vidarr dropped his head to murmur softly in his son's ear. Let's listen. He offered a brief flash of a smile to those who caught his eye as he straightened back up, his tail curled around Reid to help keep him warm.

Vidarr could not see himself toppling any of the Pillars out of any sort of malice or dislike. But he saw the tension that ran through every cell of Tiberii's body, and he considered the wolverine confetti. Briefly he looked to Aurelia and then Nottin before his gaze landed on Reid again. Vidarr drew in a breath and then cleared his throat once it seemed the majority had gone quiet. My friends - my family, I want to say how proud I am of each of our Pillars for their gargantuan efforts of guiding Dawnbreak during this assault from Mythris. It has not been in vain, it has not gone unnoticed. Each of you has carried more than expected, and each has risen to the occasion. Truly, we are fortunate despite the world around us.

Vidarr's eyes combed the crowd again, and he remembered the way that Euphemia had felt, he remembered her concerns, he remembered her hurt. Some of you never knew Duskguard as it was before, and had not known our Cheiften or our Druid. Tiberius and Olive left behind quite a large task, and I am certain that they are extremely proud of the efforts of each of their children. They would take joy in the strength of Dawnbreak, and the bonds that we have forged together. I am certain that any of you so devoted as to offer yourselves would excel as our Pillars. He saw that fire in them and he saw the grit. That determination would serve them all. Today, I would like not to offer myself for Pillar - but for Support. As Second, where needed, to assist. It might have been a bit unorthodox, but at the same time, this whole system certainly wasn't common practice.

Vidarr gave a bow of his head, to signal that he was done speaking, and he let out a breath, directing the airstream at Reid's right ear, a little sparkle in his eye when he looked down at the boy.

He had ice that clung to his coat in places, tugging uncomfortably at his skin with the unfamiliar weight. He had been full of such feelings - like he'd felt when nestled in his mother's embrace, sleeping safely and soundly. It had felt like the warmth had radiated from within him, he felt warmer than any sort of summer nap with the sun on his back. It felt like everything wasn't covered in ice and snow and instead there might be a positive outcome to the threat of the world imploding.

He had left him feeling so empty the moment he was outside it's range, and even the pretty stones he had carted back and forth slowly and dutifully from the Howling River to his den where he'd left them with the others. Maybe he should have made his little spot more protected and guarded. Maybe others stopped by to admire his stash. Too bad he hadn't been there to actually talk to them about his treasures. The hunter turned the moment he'd heard his sister call, trotting deeper into the territory to find the gathered wolves. He set down the quartz and then sat down.

He only heard parts of what Vidarr had said but he knew why they were all there. He chewed a clump of ice off his forearm, his fur had the more silken texture from Olive. He still felt so cold - the absence of the pink fire still left him feeling raw and so empty that it was almost difficult to direct his attention again to the Pillars.

RE: {Leadership Vote} Swallow your kombucha and cry - Aurelia - 3/2/2026

Voting commences! Post below with your character stating who they would like seated in the primary position of each Pillar, as well as their potential Seconds; otherwise the Pillars may choose their own if the other is willing.

It didn't take long for the remainder of Dawnbreak to trickle in, each quietly taking their place. Aurelia always felt a sense of... inadequacy, summoning the pack in this way, a small part of her wondering if many - or any - would show up in the end. She still felt so small, like a child wearing her parents' shoes.

But they had been gone for some time.

She felt pleased at the turnout, and more than that she felt some degree of pride hearing Euphemia put herself forward again. The longer she thought about it, the more comfortable she felt with the idea of someone else at the helm after all this time; perhaps a break would be helpful, she thought distantly.

It is now time to cast our votes, she stated to the small crowd. For Wisdom, we have myself and Euphemia. For Power, we have Tiberii and Brynhild. For Courage, Nottin.

Drawing herself up, she continued.

As we have no other candidates for Courage, the position will default automatically to him unless there are objections. You may voice them before the closure of this vote.

Unbeknownst to her, many of those gathered were churning through a myriad of political and imagined hierarchical assumptions; to her, there were none. For Aurelia, the vote was meant to be impartial and separate from emotion and personal loyalties, and so she did not readily understand the curious look to Solulfur's questioning eye set upon her.

Oh.

She felt a warm flush in her cheeks.

I know I have held this position since Dawnbreak's formation, she said, directing her attention broadly to the crowd. She was careful not to look Solulfur in the eye, but it was meant for her ears as well as anyone else's. Please do not think it must always be this way. We are all family here; all of us kin. Vote with your heads, not your hearts. I myself will cast the first vote for Wisdom, for Euphemia - not because she is my only competitor, but because I truly believe she carries a different kind of wisdom we could all benefit from.

Her gaze traveled toward Tiberii next to her.

I cast my vote for Tiberii for Pillar of Power, but not through any fault of Brynhild's - I simply know her better and have established years of trust. I am sure Brynhild is more than capable, regardless, and am at peace with either for the primary position. I am also comfortable with her as Second.

And at last she looked toward Nottin.

Nottin, you have my implicit trust in your role as the Pillar of Courage. I have no objections. You do not have a Second; it may be wise to put out feelers for one, should you wish.

Aurelia bowed her head and withdrew several paces from the center.

Let the vote commence.

four months | skippable!

Reid still looked a half-month or so younger than he was, and had been forced to delay involvement in Dawnbreak as a whole by a nasty ear infection that had left him too dizzy to walk outside the den very well - but the boy who bounced and bounded around Vidarr's heels today seemed a very different, vibrant creature. The boy was apparently unperturbed by his recent illness or recovery. His true feelings were more complex, but his excitement to go on an adventure with Vidarr away from the den was immeasurable. He'd like to be anywhere but the den, the only thing still holding his loyalty there being his adoration of his mother.

Reid pranced with high steps and tail curled over his back, letting the giant man clear the way for him so he could show off the way he was starting to master using his clumsy puppy legs.

Everyone in the whole world seemed gathered at this meeting place today. It was a little frightening. But Vidarr seemed entirely pleased to be there, and everyone else was...somewhat less boisterous. Reid knew just how to cheer them up, the very thing that could always bring a smile to his Mama's face: himself, of course.

Hello! Manners, manners; he made sure to announce his arrival with a simple greeting and 1000 watt smile that showed off every sharp little puppy tooth that had grown in. Important Grown Up things were happening, so Reid glued himself to Vidarr's bulk once he sat down and drank in the events around him with saucer-like hazel eyes. Vidarr had a lot to say, with way too many big words. Reid caught the gist of it - helpful as always, Vidarr. Reid kept much of his focus on sitting still and not zooming around the circle of seated wolves to sniff and say hello and ask all the questions that threatened to burst from his chest. He was being so cool and grown-up right now. He wished Mama could see too.

His focus dissipated at Vidarr's mischievous puff of air that made the robin's ears twitch before he turned a sharkish grin to his guardian. Reid aimed to shove his shoulder into Vidarr's ribs with a very young child's best (and ineffective) efforts to smother his giggling.

Wolf arrived late, catching the tail end of Aurelia's first speech. To begin, all those who wish to put themselves forward in the running, state your name and desired Pillar. I will put myself forward for re-election as well, should you see fit He knew little of the voting styles of Dawnbreak, but he could piece bits together enough that he could listen and learn. Blushing hard and hot underneath dark cheeks he avoided the eyes of others, hoping none were on him as he slunk in and placed himself a little bit behind and off to the side of everybody else. There was Brynhild for the Pillar of power, Nóttin for courage, Euphemia for Wisdom, And Tiberii for power.

He blinked as he took in each and everyone's words. A large male swathed in quicksilver and charcoal spoke, offering himself as a second anywhere he was needed, Wolf momentarily flattened his audits in shame, wishing he could offer himself as a second to the Pillar of power, but also knowing that he'd kept to himself lately since Lamb's disappearance and he didn't think he'd stand a chance...

Aurelia began to speak again, and honestly had Euphemia not spoke, and Aurelia's tones, he might have gotten the two of the confused. Admittedly Wolf had never met Aurelia, and he felt a twinge of shame in this. He needed to do better, but back to Aurelia, she was speaking about how it was time to cast their votes. She listed their choices for their votes and then announced that since Nóttin was unchallenged that he was be chosen unless any objections were voiced before the end of the meeting.

Aurelia explained that she'd held the position of wisdom since the formation of Dawnbreak, what a feat, and said they needed to choose with their heads not their hearts. Wolf briefly wondered what this might be like, to think with your heart. He then drifted back to Lamb, how she made him feel things he didn't understand, and it hurt when she was gone, maybe that was it. The dark purple man then shook his head and blinked, coming back to the conversation. Aurelia cast her first vote for Euphemia, then one for Tiberii, and then told Nóttin that she had no objections to his role as Pillar of courage.

Then a small pup popped in, announcing his arrival and plopped himself down next to the one who announced his place as second anywhere. Wolf blinked and then he cleared his throat, hoping his votes would count for something he took a deep breath and began to speak, his voice deep and near gravelly. I... I am Wolf Bloodworth... I... I would like to cast my votes... He paused, feeling ants creeping over him, up and down along his spine and across his flanks, but he continued, I would like to cast a Vote for Euphemia for Wisdom... And... Tiberii for power... I... I have no objections for Nóttin... He blinked as he finished and smiled.

He hoped that that was okay, that this was okay, he only knew a few people here at this meeting and the ants dragging across his body was so intense that he wanted to shake himself out. Though he knew better, and he didn't, instead he just looked around and respectfully dipped his head. Hoping that he was being acceptable and respectful of all of Dawnbreak. He didn't want to do anything wrong here. He was really trying.

RE: {Leadership Vote} Swallow your kombucha and cry - Nóttin - 3/8/2026

Nóttin remained silent as each wolf came forward, some offering up themselves for a pillar, others moving forward with a vote. The sable man came forward, happy that so far, there was no objection to him keeping his role as the Pillar of Courage. But now he had a choice to make, a vote to cast. Euphemia had put herself up in the running for the Pillar of Wisdom, causing some difficult emotions to stir within him. But like Aurelia had said, he had to think with his head and not his heart.

I cast my vote to Aurelia for the Pillar of Wisdom. I simply trust her with such an important position, her judgments and actions in tough situations. It is not a matter of the heart that guides this decision, only my gut intuition. For the Pillar of Power, I vote for Tiberii. I have known her far longer and have been through hell and high water with her. I trust her with my life and with the lives of our family. No faults to Brynhild, I would gladly vote for her to have a role as second in position if Tiberii would agree to it.{/q]

Nóttin took a moment to acknowledge each of them, taking a moment to gather himself once more before meeting eyes with Vidarr. [q]Vidarr, I have the utmost respect for you and trust in you. If I do keep the position of Pillar of Courage, would you be my Second? Would you guide me as my right hand?
A kind expression showed upon his face, eyes remaining on his comrade to gauge what his response would be and hoping that the large wolf would take him up on such an offer.

RE: {Leadership Vote} Swallow your kombucha and cry - Cassius - 3/8/2026

Cassius had made it at almost the last moments of everyone's initial entry into the meeting, staying in the back so that no one would notice him for the most part. Quiet and kept to himself, the blonde wolf had always been shy and never outspoken. Though something in him sparked his voice to be heard, making him stand forward for his own vote.

Hello everyone. I'm sorry that I have arrived so late. But I would like to cast my vote for the Pillar of Wisdom to my sister Euphemia. I believe that she has qualities that would help us move forward as a unit, as a family. She has much to offer us, especially a different perspective on how to handle certain challenges going forward. Cassius paused for a moment gathering himself.

As for the Pillar of Power, I nominate Tiberii for the role, as I simply know my own flesh and blood better. I simply don't know the other candidate well enough to make the vote to her. That is all. I have no issues with Nóttin as the Pillar of Courage. Cassius said his peace, then joined Euphemia at her side as a show of moral support. Then hoped that things would change for her, for the better.

Speech Emotional Actions Thoughts

Brynhild sat idly, her eyes focused silently on the wolves around; Euphemia had put herself forward for Wisdom, and Aurelia put herself forward again for Wisdom as well. Tiberii is back in for power, and then Nottin. She knew that she should've voted for Euphemia, voted someone new in, but she did not know Euphemia enough to put that trust forwards. She did not know that sibling enough to replace Aurelia, so, as silence settled briefly, her voice rang out.

My votes cast forwards towards Tiberri, for power. She is strong, and she knows this pack well. For Wisdom, I vote for Aurelia.

Her voice came soft, eyes drifting across the two wolves, then drifting towards Nottin. No one had put themselves forward, not one wolf, so it was kind of suggested that he'd remain in his spot, so she did not voice that vote; it seemed pointless, especially since she felt it'd be pointless to voice that she'd rather have the sisters all in a spot. Families lead best together, even if the third one was the mate to a family member.

Slowly, she settled down, sitting onto her rump on the cold earth, eyes focusing onto Aurelia like a hawk searching for food. She'd been vigilant about the sisters since she joined and since she returned from visiting Ylva in the east. Her fur had grown thicker with this cold weather, puffing out around her shoulders, sitting almost like a cloak.

RE: {Leadership Vote} Swallow your kombucha and cry - Eidola - 3/8/2026

Searching violet eyes found him, she would offer flickering glances keeping her rump planted firmly where it was despite how she yearned to be closer. There were too many prying eyes here, and her aunts concern regarding Dante's proximity to her rung in the back of her mind. Instead she fixed her eyes forward, forcing herself to focus on the words her other Aunt; Aurelia, spoke.

Eidola knew little of this process, even less of the candidates, so she waited allowing others to cast their vote — naturally though, Eidola would lean her trust into her family. So when the words of others trailed off and there was an opportunity she hesitantly cleared her throat. ❝ I am...Eidola, and I'd like to join the pillar of Wisdom as a mediator... ❞ her gaze flickered nervously about the group, who's eyes were likely upon her now making her blood run cold.

❝ I...cast my vote to Aurelia for Wisdom and Tiberii for power ❞ with that she slunk back and released the air she'd been holding, curling her tail tighter around her thigh thankful that it was over.
