RE: Have you felt your neck skin crawl When youre searching for the light - Saga - 8/4/2026

In the lapse of silence that followed, Snuh murmured out an apology for the way she'd hurt them. Saga, for all she had forgiven her sister, dropped her eyes - afraid to face it, still, and afraid more of what she might find within Rurik should she look harder at that moment. Was he sorry, too? Saga understood that they'd all done whatever they could manage to stay alive, but hearing it was different.
It was shame, that she had not even been able to defend herself in those days, to be the only Fox that went dragging ass back home in failure when all others had either died trying or found their freedom. It was a thread of remaining fear, still not used to having Snuh back in her life let alone thinking of Rurik at her back. Not that she really believed either of them dangerous to her, but knowing in her heart that even if they were... she likely still couldnt turn teeth on her own littermates, and she would refuse to see the truth until it was biting her in the ass. Logic told her that it didn't make sense, that both of them had plenty of opportunity to turn on her, but it also argued that they had just as many reasons -if not more- to hate their Mother as much as she did and rise against Laurel.

The fear and loyalty that had always ruled her in spades were at war within herself, and Saga could only swallow past and choose a faith that things could be better and a new life awaited them all.

Snuh stepped forward to hug Rurik, and Saga watched a ripple of tension course through him. The silver woman felt her own limbs flex in response, but their brother just asked her to step away, admitting that he wasn't ready.

Saga wanted to be worried, but she appreciated that he was honest.

Baby steps, she reassured them both quietly, We have time now to become siblings, not rivals.

'Simple,' he said, though Saga knew it was anything but in practice even if the words were succinct.

We're healing, she murmured, sounding pleased, We can grow into something better. She blinked at Rurik's dark form, smiling. Join us in Jakten, brother. Together the three of us can start over.
