cloud lash stepped to his side, her breath caught between the thin air and the weight in her chest.
crimson eyes scanned the land below— the shack, the grazing shapes. small, peaceful things. his world. and still, he brought her to see it.
her tail swayed once behind her, slow and quiet, before she touched her shoulder to his with a gentle, brief press. she did not need many words. her admiration was clear.
this was his home.
and now, she understood.
she would come back.
