To see her in the state she was at the funeral was, well, no less eye-opening than the revelation that she was now mothering a child barely younger than herself.

He wanted to help and support them, but it was beginning to feel like every attempt he made was met with walls so high he could never scale them in this mortal body. It pained the man to see them struggle, and yet he often felt so useless in his attempts.

His grin fixed back on Apollo, and he laughed softly, Oh, so you know all about the big three? Zues and his two brothers, Poseidon and Hades? he quiered with a challenge, his tail flicking like a cat's as he eagerly awaited the child's response. It was a mask, of course, to hide away from his daughters' watchful eyes.
