RE: Drive until the sunrise - Juniper1 - 10/8/2025 Skill — Herbalist
The natural bounty before her was grand, with a standout that soon captured her eye. A beautiful plant with white petals dipped in blue. Her childlike wonder was quickly stripped away, replaced by a chill as a voice breathed into her ear. The voice speaks only once. The plant is named before silence sits between her ears. Blue turtlehead. Just as the voice vanished in a single breath, the clouds slink away. The floral spectacle disappeared before their very eyes. A lone root was left between their paws. Juniper blinked slowly, her mind somehow working both frantically and sluggishly. Juniper's stomach turned. Each individual was left with a gift. A very important gift. But only five wolves held the root of the unknown flower at their paws. Five chances. The man cloaked in white did not speak, but the small man with an earthy scent spoke first. Oakwood eyes lifted to meet his before turning to the smokey woman. This is gfit, and one I think we should work together to maintain.Juniper's voice tested the proverbial waters. Her eyes lowered to the root at her paws. I don't believe we will get second chances in nurturing these roots. I worry if we all go our separate ways, we may find that this plant can't seed itself. But if we keep them all together... one blight could ruin the entire crop. Juniper returned her gaze to the wolves before her. It is plain that most of us are from our own respective groups, but I am certain Camhanaich would be more than willing to aid in this endeavor. Wherever it takes us. The words: "I will at the very least" was left unspoken. RE: Drive until the sunrise - Setemhotep - 10/15/2025 Hope its ok to go ahead and post with Hotep again, since we're halfway thru the month now and I wanna get him as many of these skill points as possible! If there's any issues tho I can edit or remove 💜 Skill - Healer Deep inside him, Hotep wished to protest. Satriya was a holy nation, defended by powerful gods, and were most suited then to safeguard this blessing. He did not know these other nations. But Ra laid affliction on the sands of Skyspear, and they traveled now with no land to propagate such a blessing. More than that, had not these same gods brought so many here to find their blessing? Did they not speak in dreams to more than Pharaoh's faithful? Perhaps Hotep should trust what had been laid plainly before his feet. After a moment of consideration, he supplied, I do not know of these lands. Yet you speak wisdom. Perhaps they should be divided — two to the Vale, and two to Camhanaich. Let one stay with my people in Satriya, the seat of Mighty Pharaoh Khaemwaset, the Great Bull who Protects, Heir of Horus, and Divine Queen Merneith, Opener of Ways and Bringer of Light, in safekeeping. If blight destroys one crop, the other may endure, and a seed will be saved then to go where it is most needed if the plague that so afflicts us all raises strength to challenge us. RE: Drive until the sunrise - Iokav - 10/16/2025 Skill:
3/5The masses who'd gathered speak amongst themselves, in regards to the strange flora they'd discovered. All brilliant of minds, he's sure, as they spoke of cultivating the seeds and ensuring the blossom's they found would endure the elements. They, too, know it is of importance. It's as if the plant had chosen them as its keepers. Iokav is still unsure as to what...force it was that had guided them here, whispered to them, brought forth this gift, as many called it. But perhaps, in time, with the help of these strangers, all would be revealed. A woman speaks to him directly. Euphemia. He meets her with a small, polite grin, a nod of his head. She offered sanctuary in Frostfang Vale; a land unfamiliar to he, or perhaps it was a foundation of a civilized people. He often worked alone, as it's what suited him best. The lack of mindless chatter or interference is what he preferred...but the invitation is there, in the palm of the woman's hands, and spoken with such gentle intent. In the pursuit of science and the greater good of this realm, Iokav would conform. He would change, and he would accompany her to lands fertile in the sake of this blossom. That is an offer I would be a fool to refuse. I will join you, if you'd have me.He responded quietly. Conjoined minds would suit better to unravel this...oddity. RE: Drive until the sunrise - Euphemia - 10/24/2025 ![]() skill: herbalist To her surprise, those around her agreed with her. For one so used to being a contrarian, so used to saying the thing others ignored and subdued, Euphemia had to admit that this was a strange experience. She supposed it was only natural that the other packs would similarly desire to be the greenhouse that shielded the blue turtlehead from the world and its evils. They even pointed out that one specimen would need another in order to cross-polinate, and Euphemia nodded succinctly, as if she had thought of it herself. To her further surprise, the older man she had spoken to in a roundabout way, happened to accept her offer to work together. Her heart skipped! She wondered if this day could get any better, filled with such intense fields of flowers, new medical discoveries, new alliances and friends. Perhaps she hadn’t been all that altruistic, but somehow, it seemed to have paid off. Maybe she should consider investing in herself a little bit more, and a little bit more often. Euphemia nodded at her small covenant, attempting to remember each of their faces and scents. She had never been too good at faces, but she wanted to commit this to memory lest she be the one needing to seek out the other, for another cutting, a secondary chance to propagate what she had failed to supplant. Then, she nodded. Should any of you have need, Dawnbreak is in the north. Amongst the mountains. Euphemia was no stranger to speaking to a crowd, and she couldn’t deny the way it made her heart beat faster, and blood rush a little more swiftly. Goodluck, to everyone. It was strange, now that she had given into the realization that whatever evil had befallen the planet – it was real. There was a brief moment in time when she felt it was all an illusion, but that veil had been torn; that looking glass shattered. She was now a true believer, and a true defender of the blue turtlehead. The medicine that did… something. If it even survived at all. The maiden shuffled the root between her forepaws, and settled her fire-blazing attention on the one she had called forth. C’mon, she said with a smile, in lieu of a greeting, I’ll show you the way. |
