A being made for water (Ampoule) - Diver - 2/13/2026

Diver was asleep in a world foreign to her own. Her world had traces of magic and myth, with creatures who have hidden themselves from they eyes of mortals. It was said, that her kind, tapirs, swam alongside mermaids and had a special connection with them. Diver's eyes slowly opened to green colors, revealing that she was in a rainforest. She stood up on strong legs and took a look around. It was beautiful and enchanting to be in such a place. The tapir didn't care for the fact that she was not in her homeland. Life was a adventure after all, meant to be lived to the fullest. She saw a deep source of water nearby and did not hesitate to jump straight in. She dived deep below finding some tasty aquatic vegetation, grabbed a mouthful, and resurfaced to eat it. Diver looked around, ready to start her journey in this new place. The lore she grew up with was still rooted to her memory and in her heart. But was there any traces in myth and magic where she was now? Well, she would just have to find out.

It seemed quite a silly thing to have access to all sorts of magical tunnels and not take advantage of them – so she packed up a small leaflet parcel of herbs, enough for about a week away from the Shores, and traveled to where she understood a cave entrance to be.

Then, she walked inside.

The impulse surprised even Ampoule herself, who was a creature not wont to travel far from her home. She found power and surprising skill came from intimate commitment and knowledge – just as true healing prowess came from binding the same wounds time and time again, and knowledge of plants came from one’s over experience, sometimes over the span of a lifetime.

This was the blessing of a crone; to have many years to accrue knowledge – and to thwart the desire to move onwards, upwards, to new and barren fields. It was also the blessing of a goddess, who had the same knowledge of the crone, yet amplified a thousandhold.

Ampoule knew her beach, and she loved her beach. She would never leave the lands unattended for long.

But she would go on a teeny vacation (it was so very cold there, anyways) and here, the jungle was hot and humid. It was a balm, but Ampoule was a creature of the ocean, and she did not deign to stay in the forests for long. She trotted to the smell of salt water, to where palms and vines spilled into sand and then into a saline beachside that was surprisingly deep.

A brown, wriggling thing burst from the deep. At first, Ampoule could not contain the gasp that burst forth, and then she responded with the utmost joy and confidence Ahoy, magnificent trunk creature!! and she paddled directly towards it, with little to no fear of this giant, writhing thing.

Diver had been enjoying herself in the water until the voice of a female animal caught her attention. She turned to see a female wolf that looked very friendly. It joined her in the water and Diver didn't mind one bit. Her mystical British accent made itself known, speaking with grace. "Hello wolf. My name is Diver and I am known as a tapir, a creature meant to be in the water. What is your name? I see you know how to swim. That is good. The water has secrets you know." Diver looked at her with kindness and a bit of fascination. She was certainly beautiful for her kind, and her colors worked nicely together. Diver's color was simple. White and black with dark brown eyes. But her features would be what some would call strange, like her trunk for example. But all creatures were special. Diver wondered if this wolf had a connection to the moon. After all, most wolves howled to it.
