Let the Dusk Break - Adonis - 2/21/2026 He was on cloud nine. Life was absolutely lovely right now. How could things have started so horrible, and now ended up so nice? Never had he felt so good, and so accepted by someone before. His name was given anew now, and he knew that he needed to say goodbye to his old name once and for all. It was a lightly clouded evening. The sun was very close to setting behind the horizon. Adonis was careful to not go too far from where he was staying in the Dawnbreak territory, sticking close to Euphemia’s den area as to not disturb the rest of the inhabitants yet. He knew he needed to meet the others soon. In fact, he so desperately wanted to learn about them and their stories, but he was not one to rush. But secretly, he hoped he would run into one of her sisters… The sky was painted with glorious colors as the bulky man took a seat. Dusk would be here soon. Very soon, and he would leave behind the dusk for good as Adonis. Molten eyes watched the horizon like a kid at Christmas. He was excited, with his form leaning forward a bit. Perhaps he was still a bit taken aback. The experience with Euphemia at the flame was life changing, and he still felt the warm glow within him. It was a magical thing. A story for the stars, and he would search them on this night for where to weave the story within them. And so the man sits, enjoying the bit of happiness this world had allowed him after the horrors it originally met him with. He would enjoy the moment that day gave way to dusk, and dusk gave way to night. He would enjoy the stars starting to sparkle in the sky again. How they will speak to him and comfort him. Yes, he will let these little moments just be good as the warmth of Euphemia’s embrace still wraps around his heart. RE: Let the Dusk Break - Tiberii - 2/22/2026 RE: Let the Dusk Break - Adonis - 2/22/2026 He was enamoured with the sky. Enamoured with the feelings and thought from the encounter at the flame. The effects were still swirling within in, and he was still riding this high. This happiness. The sky brought extra joy to him, so much so he did not initially hear the stranger coming up upon him. Perhaps he did hear, but his mind simply did not register it. The voice then breaks the air, and he feels a tingle in his neck. It was not the voice of Euphemia. No where near. It must be another from the Dawnbreak. Immediately he perks up, if he could even perk up more, and turns his head around to see the dark woman as she comes to settle by his side. Immediately he turns to her, and sits in a formal position to face her. The comment about the sunset is not ignored, but he remembered his training. Introductions matter. First impressions matter. He wanted to matter. He rightens up, before bowing his head down to her in a singular motion. ”This one greets you in peace, Tiberii. May our meeting be met in goodwill!” he says with a touch of excitement, like he is trying his best to hold it back but a little escapes. Even the tip of his tail taps on the snow behind him against his will. ”This one is called Duskbrea- no, forgiveness. The name now carried is Adonis, placed upon this one by Euphemia of Dawnbreak,” he said with a shake of his head, but with an unmistakable grin. ”This sunset is glorious! A fitting sky beneath which Duskbreaker may be set aside, and the new name rise in his place,” he says with a continued formal stance, though littered with the touches of extra happiness and joy that he simply could not hold back. ”This one is honored by your presence in this twilight hour. Do you stand among the wolves of Dawnbreak?” he asked, his voice a bit quicker than normal due to his heart still racing for Euphemia. Even still, there is the added excitement of meeting someone new within the pack…and he hoped it would be one of her sisters! His large black paws very slightly danced, padding the ground like he wanted to get up and swirl around but formality forbade it. RE: Let the Dusk Break - Tiberii - 3/6/2026 RE: Let the Dusk Break - Adonis - 3/10/2026 As nice as a sky was, a thing so important to the Starwoven man, making a new friend was much more exciting. His molten gold eyes looked to Tiberii with great attention, and he held an odd mixture of formality and uncontrolled child-like excitement. In fact, it was exactly like a pup who was trying so hard to be an adult but…wasn’t quite getting it right. It was probably odd looking for the burly tri-colored man. His tail wagged as he looked at the dark woman, who seemed friendly enough and willing to engage. Exciting! His little mess up on his name though…he suddenly felt the weight of it. The elders would have corrected him for such a simple mess up. They always told him he was very enthusiastic, but prone to mistakes, which was why he was never chosen to leave the Starheart. He should have been better, despite it being the first time he had ever vocalized his new name to someone. ”Yes, Euphemia placed this name upon this one. This one fell to a dreadful beast of mud and rot, and rose again north of this place. Such a turning of fate calls for a new name to be woven into the stars, of which Euphemia chose Adonis,” he explained, maintaining a joyful smile, though in the back of his mind the images of the monster flashed in his mind, and the face of Devika in the fray. Luckily, the effects of the flame did not allow this to burden his expression. There was more exciting, happy things to think about anyway…it turns out, he was meeting one of the pillars! Tiberii…and a sister! It all finally clicked. His backend shot up as he stood, tail wagging wildly behind him. The effects of the flame most certainly made him more giddy than usual, and unable to control his happiness of the moment. It was the sister of his love, how could he not be thrilled? ”This one is honored to meet you. You carry the aura of great power…truly a pillar among wolves! Euphemia spoke only wonders of her sisters,” he said with a touch of glee, trying to sit himself back down. ”How does one find themselves as a pillar of power here?” he asks curiously, a slight tilt to his blocky head. Still, his eyes looked only to Tiberii respectfully, despite the beauty of the sky as the sun fell further and further beyond earth…dusk slowing making its way into the background. RE: Let the Dusk Break - Tiberii - 4/13/2026 RE: Let the Dusk Break - Adonis - 4/22/2026 His eyes grew wide at her comment. Did she really mean it? Such kind words! His smile had grown almost to his eyeballs at this point. He nodded quickly at the mention of Euphemia being the creative one, and he could see this being the truth indeed. He took notice of how she seemed to shy away at his words, but why be so shy about the truth? Euphemia did speak great things of her sisters, and now he was oh so lucky enough to meet one! They were important to Euphemia, and thus, they were naturally important to him. Perhaps even one day, they would be like sisters to him too. Sisters he never had. Family he had never had! (Outside of his adoring Mother!) There was a slow tilting of his head as she comments on how she became the pillar of strength…and the explanation made SO much sense. Of course it was force! He should have known better. His tail thumped at the explanation, but his ears perked and a touch of shock claimed his face as she asked if he was interested in being a warrior. Before he could speak, his mouth opening slightly, she then asked him to SPAR! He shakes his head back and forth vigorously. ”Oh…oh no! This one did not come to spar, nor to walk the path of a warrior. Though this one bears a great form, this one is often called…the star that falls from the sky by the Starwoven,” he says, a bit more sheepishly now. Yet it does not completely detour him! He puffs up a little bit, taking in a deep breath. ”But…this one still wishes to learn your ways, in time, for even the path of battle must be woven into the story. This one may not be the finest fang to offer, yet he would still bear witness to your glory!” he exclaims, in a way accepting some of this warrior training without outright dedicating to it. The Starwoven, luckily, rarely encountered outsiders in their own land…a land within a crater, thus why they sent out their own to learn of the greater world. Fighting was not their top priority…and Adonis being larger than the rest, no one ever wanted to practice with him. ”Do you train many of your ways in the pack?” he inquires curiously, the sunset completely ignored by him at this point, as his attention was completely, wholly, and hopefully not uncomfortably upon Tiberii. |
