The blue blood of the land shakes my soul - Azalea - 3/7/2026

Yuèshí (and Leon if he wants!)
The dreams, they happened again. Azalea felt this uncanny urge as she awoke. It was an urge to go out, and investigate what she saw in her mind. While her brood slept, she shook out her fur and left the den.

The safety of her family was important, so she had to see these fractures for herself…to find these runes that the voices told would help. This was the world they had right now. Its destruction would mean their own destruction…and the woman of blood and snow was not having it. She left without letting her children know, as she wished them no harm, but she did not hide herself from Leon. If he chose to come with, then so be it, but she did not compel him to come with. The decision was his own.

The mountain seemed unharmed, its trees still intact and the ground unharmed, though her poison green eyes still looked at each rock with suspicion. It wasn’t until. She got further down the mountainside, where the trees split so she could see the snow-touched land in the distance. The plains…they were different. Blue cracks were formed in the ground, and her jaw opened slightly in awe.

Quickly she moved then, red paws swift in the dim morning light. At the base of the mountain itself, where the plains meet, there was indeed a large fissure. Azalea’s den was south, next to the lake, so she had to move a bit north through the plains to finally reach the blue glow. Her eyes were wide like saucers as she was about 20 or so feet away from it, feeling an uncomfortable sense of dread coming over her.

Azalea stood still in this moment. Head high, features sharp, with nose tasting the air. How does one find these runes the voice spoke about? The dream…it was real. The proof was before her, and she had to do what she could to protect what was hers.

RE: The blue blood of the land shakes my soul - Leon - 3/7/2026

Grey-blue sky told him that daybreak was right around the corner, but Leon struggled to wake fully, his eyes searching the sky in a bleary, dazed state. What the fuck? As he roused himself into a half-sitting position, he cast a glance toward the remains of a small mammal he had eaten the night before. He could not help but glare at it, twisting his lips in disgust at the thought. Not because he  had eaten a whole uncooked rabbit, that part didn't bother him—it's what the rabbit must have eaten that turned his stomach so.

What the fuck kind of dream was that!? Leon was particular about avoiding recreational stupors if he had the choice to, which Lady Azalea seemed very keen on letting Leon experience the freedom of choice, so it angered him to think some fucking rabbit ate some weird berries or something and left Leon suffering the consequences. He had no other explanation for such a dream than somehow, of course, the rabbit had been the cause. He'd been drugged!

Even under the cloud-dampened light, Azalea's red-blazed fur was hard to miss. Welcoming the distraction, he stood and hurried after her, curious where she was going—and he didn't want to be left behind, not with the numerous teeth laying wait inside her den.

He followed behind her diligently and quietly, unable to recall too many of the details of the dream, and so much of the traveling was spent half-dazed and inattentive to their surroundings. She seemed to know exactly where she wanted to go so he let her heels lead the way. When she stopped and he nearly walked into her rear, his head lifted to view the scene that had captured her.

What the fuck?

Maybe this second chance at life was more of a curse than he realized. Why did this world have to be so strange, too?! He hadn't even meant to blurt out a swear beside the ears of his mark-maker and he hadn't even realized he had done so, it was just that the strangeness of it all was palpable enough to slap his senses loose. His mind blanked and he could do little more than balk at the fissure and the realization that every blurry thing he tried to forget of his dream was real.

Sorry I took so long to get this reply done. ;-;

Another dream, strange and terrifying.

Yueshi woke with a start, heart pounding in his thin chest. He didn't understand what was going on, or anything about this strange place where death did not seem permanent. It was all a twisted, bad dream he could not wake from, and he could only assume it was from some terrible karma in a past life.

He stood and shook out his fur, eyes fixed on the ground. He could see the fissures, and he could feel the echoes of the earth's tremors beneath his paws, or so he imagined.

Let it be just a dream, he thought as he lifted his head.

Morning made the images in his mind less frightening, less real, and he made his way onward with no particular place in mind. He was aimless, he had been aimless. A cursed man better off away from everyone for angry ghosts clung to him to make sure he suffered. That's what he'd been told, wasn’t it?

But the angriest ghosts of all seemed to have split the land.

The sea of suffering is boundless, he thought as the light of blue flames reflected in his eyes. He turned and looked over his shoulder, but he knew the phrase was not so literal.

Rune Discovery : 「 Failure - Parasite Present」

The fractures look so interesting. You stand several yards from the vast blue fissure as bolts of something almost like electricity shoot out in wide arcs, striking anything in range at random - one bolt hits a large stone, blasting off a small chunk from its side. You wonder what would happen if it struck a wolf.

A desert mouse hops into view. With wide eyes you observe its approach, moving dangerously close toward the large crack in the ground; does it not see the enormous gaping hole only a scant few feet from its path?

Another electric pulse arcs out from the fissure and strikes the mouse.

It explodes violently.

You wince as tiny, itty-bitty little flecks of blood splatter lightly against your face even at this distance, but you remain blissfully unaware of the invisible danger you have just subjected yourself to.

Parasite Event for Azalea and Leon (if Yuèshí is close enough, you too buddy)

You have several options as a player when confronted with infection.

You may either

1. Choose to automatically fail in repelling the spores, becoming infected

2. Roll for infection (1d100 - 50 and under fails, 51 and over succeeds in repelling the parasite)

3. Choose to repel them, but suffer a crippling migraine and muscle weakness for two in-game weeks

You may roll on the forum or in discord’s bot channel and play out the progression of the consequences without further Narrator intervention.

Note symptoms do not manifest immediately, may take up to three days to begin, and can progress at different rates for different characters. The Blue Turtlehead flowers cultivated by Dawnbreak, Camhanaich, and Satriya can be used to suppress symptoms.

If you are already infected, this will speed up the progression of your illness.

Leon had followed, and Azalea did find a great comfort in having him here by her side. This situation seemed fucked. Not normal, well… at least for where she came from. Everyone came from different places here, unless they were born to Mythris, and maybe this was something normal to someone’s land. But Moladion? The worst was a meteor.

Azalea turned her head to Leon just as he was almost about to run into her. His words were completely appropriate. She let out a big sigh. ”What the fuck indeed…I haven’t had the time to tell you about all the weird shit that happens around here…I am guessing you had the dream too? she asked, poison green eyes catching sight of the stranger now, wandering. Ears perked, curious.

”Hey you! Did you have a dream about this?” she called out, leaning in closer to Leon in this moment. It was then her eyes were distracted once more to a desert mouse moving towards a crack that was close. Azalea feels a great discomfort. The dumb thing heads straight for the crack, and as Azalea takes a step back it then explodes.

Blood flies through the air and lands on Azalea’s face and ears. It is not normal, this blood. It doesn’t smell right, but she doesn’t understand why. Her face contorts with displeasure.

”What the LITERAL fuck was that? These cracks make you explode too?” she says while looking down at her legs, touch with small splatters of the blood. ”It doesn’t look right,” she whispers, her sharp features giving a calculating look, trying to connect all these dreams together and their meaning.

Yueshi had been too far away to be touched by bits of the mouse that was destroyed by a bolt of lightning from the fissure. He had been awed by the terrifying sight, but he was not stupid. He didn't think any of it looked worth investigating up close. A chill had plagued him ever since he had re-awoken, and he was not sure if he had dreamed it all, or what.

His head turned to the two wolves, to the one that spoke to him. He blinked.

“I guess I did,” Yueshi called back.
