How can I already lose my way like this? - Discordia - 3/8/2026

Disocrdia uncurled from the warmth of her siblings and slipped from the maw of the den. She knew better than to go too far, but she couldn't resist exploring the brush around the den. She had hoped to find something worthwhile to keep her entertained. Paws slightly big for her growing body didn't exactly help navigation, but the girl was determined. Her ears caught the idle chirping of birds, and she followed the sounds curiously bounding through the brush before leaping into a pile of snow, only to watch the birds scatter away. A soft childish growl escaped her as she shook her pelt and slammed a paw on the ground, baring puppy teeth. Her eyes narrowed as she sulked in silence, as she looked around. She was sure the den was around here somewhere...she wouldn't cry out for help. She was a big girl; she could find her way home. Despite a sense of determination, the soft yet brief pinning of her ears did little to hide her worry that she may be in over her head. We weren't helpless. We were just adventuring.

RE: How can I already lose my way like this? - Tyra - 3/8/2026

There were eyes everywhere, mother's, brothers, the white man she's caught glimpses of leaving pelts and meat at the den as gifts. Never staying long, but his piercing blues stared at her briefly with something she would understand as guilt later.

Right now though, those were concerns for an older mind.

Tyra's only concerns right now was one of the 8 bodies slipping away from the warm pile, raising her head and squinting as she watched the mismatched girl leave. It didn't take long for the mossy girl to follow suit, her little tail sticking straight up as she trotted after like she was on a mission.

A very, very cold mission.

Dis, Dis, dissy she called out, not knowing to follow the tracks yet, but the hoot of an owl rang out in the morning air, quiet wings flying over her and hovering over Discordia (Eris). The girls had more eyes on them than she originally thought! Solas was Spirit's owl, ever watchful, though she wouldn't talk to the kids just yet.

But she hooted again before Tyra took the hint and bounded over. Dis!

Disocrdia's ear twitched, her heart thumping against her chest as she looked around. The sound was familiar, but her ears fell slightly; had she caused her sister to become lost as well? A soft yip escaped her maw as she staggered forward towards the sound of her sister's voice.  It was when her eyes landed on Tyra that her head hung low, We are lost. We are lost together. She spoke in a soft and sad tone. All the bravado she had when it was just her faltered. She hadn't intended to have her sister follow her. Mother would surely eat her if something bad happened to the two of them.

Pale eyes looked around, and small ears listened carefully just in case. Ty, the birds. They were close... She neglected the fact that they were up really high, but she saw them briefly. Will Momma be mad?" She asked before feeling a soothing nudge from within. [q]We can go play. Playing isn't bad. She justified excuses she would spin if she needed to, but maybe just maybe they could find their way back later without getting into too much trouble, well, without her getting into trouble. She wouldn't let Tyra take the blame for following her out. Discordia bounced on light paws toward Tyra, a light wag on her tail before bowing playfully. We go! She squeaked in delight, bouncing to her full height and bounding through snow drifts, hoping Tyra would follow. Surely they would be fine in the heart of their home.
