The Great Silence - Ko-Ga - 3/13/2026

Rune search AW!
Mithwyth more than welcome if you fancy!

Skill - Vagabond 1/5

Ko-Ga was diverted from his search for flockmates to look instead for runes. It was important to find them! Birds knew these things. Ko-Ga, most of all, because the dream-dog said so, and so far, the dream-dog had been fairly spot on about things.

Ko-Ga would have preferred a dream-crow, frankly, but supposed a dog was the next best thing.

From on high, the world looked bloody. A tattered crab leaking blue from wounds that stretched to the horizon. Finding Nat-Nate and bringing her back to Nate-Dog and restoring the flock to its proper number with Mithwyth would be little good if they were all swallowed by the angry earth! A pity his flockmates did not have wings.

Though the cold find made his feathers fluff, Ko-Ga rode winds high above, keen eyes seeing the glow of very special, very important rocks.

RE: The Great Silence - Rralk - 3/13/2026

These dream things were annoying. Putting them to work? Because of bad dumb wolves? Rralk was irritated. She had awoken and processed the dream, knowing it was a shared one among all intelligent creatures.

Well, intelligent was questionable.

Rralk knew the dumb wolves would probably be terrible at spotting runes. Their eyes were not nearly as good as Rralk's eyes. They also did not have wings and could not fly. They were basically useless. Rralk took to the sky, and flew without concern to what direction she went.

It was nice to stretch her wings and go a far distance. The wind felt pleasant, and she felt free with each passing breeze. The ground was touched with blue cracks all around, and Rralk wondered how the wingless wolves got around such deep things. Her eyes would watch anyone around, and only saw fascinated creatures every now and then.

She did not realize how far she had flown, but she came upon one of the mountains. Flying ahead was another bird, a crow, and Rralk figured she could see if they knew anything about or had seen any of these dream runes. As she flew closer, it became quite apparent that this was the bird she met a few full moons ago. Rralk does not hesitate though. She flies right up to him, and then keeps in line with him above the ground.

"Ko-Ga, looking for dream-runes for Nate-dog?"

Skill - Orator 2/5

Rralk! Ko-Ga cawed merrily, cartwheeling in elation at her appearance. Looking for dream runes for Ko-Ga! Nate-dog go south. Nat-nate go north! Mithwyth follow me. Stupid dogs not know flocks stay safe together! He groaned a caw. But I will bring them back! After dream-runes and world-saving!

He could prioritize practically, on occassion!

But her! What was she doing here? Very glad to see you! Your dog keeping you fed? He grinned.

RE: The Great Silence - Mithwyth - 3/17/2026

From a distance, she follows her feathered friend. She is still shaken from their encounter with the beast on the beach. Her ribs are bruised, shoulder grazed and red but overall she is intact.

Now, she wonders if cruelty lies behind each wolf.

She speeds to a trot and sees Ko-Ga, feathers ruffled but glee in his obsidian eyes as a raven settles in flight alongside him. It holds steady and Mithwyth lopes beneath the duo. Has he found himself a friend?

“Going to introduce me, Ko-Ga?” she calls up, teasing in her tone.

Rune Discovery : 「 Failure — Fissure Present 」

Without the sun’s ability to warm the currents of the wind or to heat the earth beneath your comrade’s feet, the North reminds you of just how cold it can really become. The icy chill of the snow is as biting as it is unforgiving as it travels through your bodies, the wind an unparalleled foe as it rustles between your wings and your friend's. You find yourself missing the warmth of those nicely colored flames, even as you soar high and your comrade runs low.

Maybe it would have been warmer to travel on the backs of your wolf companions.

Although Mythris has no bone to pick with the birds that fly above, the same could not be said about your companion.

The earth seems to groan in protest at the clambering paws that sprint beneath your fluttering wings. It does not like their presence stumbling around their surface.

The ground starts to rumble in defiance.

And from above, it is only with the eyes of a bird that you can spy the racing fissure that erupts from the earth, cracking and fracturing straight toward your canine friend.

Within seconds, the ground beneath your friend’s paws will begin to split and crumble, offering you all a deeper look into the corruption of blue that bleeds from the core of Mythris itself.

Can you warn her in time?

Or will she suffer the fate of all that Mythris demands and watch from above as she plummets into the corrupted bowels of the land?

RE: The Great Silence - Rralk - 3/19/2026

Ko-Ga is a strange bird. Always so happy. Always so full of cheer. Just like that Kirain wolf Stardust liked so much.

Weirdos.

Rralk listened as she allowed the wind to carry her black form in the sky. "Birds always have to save world from dogs," she said with an eye roll, her attention quickly catching on the wolf below. Is this the Mithwyth? Rralk notices immediately something is wrong as the wolf speaks. The question asked by Ko-Ga was completely ignored. The ground was splitting apart, and Rralk suddenly dive-bombs the bottom of the wolf.

"GONK! GONK!!! GONK GONK GONK AHHH!" Rralks protests, claws pinching the wolf's booty if she is able. She cared not if it hurt. If the dumb wolf wanted to live, they needed to run, and they needed to run now! Rralk throws a glance at Ko-Ga. "Ra! Ra!"

RE: The Great Silence - Ko-Ga - 3/21/2026

No! No, this world was not taking his Mithwyth!

Ko-Ga dove with Rralk, calling in wolvish, Run! Bad dream! Angry earth! RUN! Rralk was right, wolves always needed saving! What would they do without their flocks? Well, get eaten by wrathful magic, obviously! Pthah!

Pulling sharp up he steered in a direction perpendicular to the oncoming chasm. Follow! Fast!

If she fell, they'd not be able to do her much good.

But Mithwyth was smarter than Nate, and Ko-Ga hoped that meant she would not succumb to something as embarrassing as not listening to the very wise and inarguable advice of her feathered companions.

RE: The Great Silence - Mithwyth - 3/22/2026

At first, she thinks the crackling is just snow giving way beneath her paws. Then the noise deafens and the snow keeps giving way, and doesn’t stop.

Not until she’s looking at the ground and is met with a glowing blue gaping split. She yelps and her tail tucks, and someone pulls her undercoat straight from her skin with a painful pluck!

As Ko-Ga and his raven companion shout, she turns a tight corner, following their flight from the ground with a powerful sprint. She trusts him to lead the way, knowing his sight is far better than hers on the ground.

Just one thing after another, lately!

RE: The Great Silence - Rralk - 3/24/2026

The wolf moved swiftly, and heeded Rralk's call. Ko-Ga flew down as well, in great panic for their friend. Rralk saw that Ko-Ga was flying ahead a bit, trying to direct the wolf that was close to tumbling into the ground.

Rralk suddenly lifted upwards with great haste. The air lifts her large dark form up, and she takes note of what was going on below her. Eyes looked forward to see where the crack is forming from an aerial view. She gets an idea of where it might be going, with the stark contrast of blue on the ground.

She calls out to Ko-Ga. "HONK GONK!" she yells out, critical eyes looking around and not seeing anymore cracks forming from a different angle. Rralk would be upset if the entire world fell into the crack...she rather liked the nest she made recently.

RE: The Great Silence - Ko-Ga - 3/27/2026

Right! Ko-Ga relayed in wolvish, pulling up beside his four-legged friend to race in tandem with her. Dogs liked to chase things, maybe this would help!

Mythris angry! But Mythwith faster! He encouraged, and crows weren't exactly the best at smiling but he gave his best effort at the gesture.

Fun story someday! As long as the world didn't end, first!
