I'm gonna get ya, get ya, get ya - Nen'tah - 4/16/2026

Skill: Hunter

Although he did not rush each morning from the den as his brothers did, nor did he exhibit the charismatic curiosity of his sister, Nen'tah was nonetheless very interested in what lay beyond the mouth of the cave. He was already growing more comfortable each day, venturing further and further out in their territory, neck craned as he peered through the woods with wide eyes. The boy was fascinated by everything that moved - birds flitting between the trees overhead, small rodents scurrying out of sight.

All of it a miracle, and all of it his to explore.

Well - within reason. Mother kept a watchful eye on all of her children, and he was no exception. The boundaries of his wandering paws were quickly established and he dutifully kept within them, albeit with a longing sort of expression; he could swear he saw something big leap away into the distance and his heart had caught in his throat.

At present, however, Nen'tah was crawling after a toad.

He'd never seen anything like it. Squat, fat, and covered in terrible bumps, and whenever he touched it, the thing would make the most awful noise.

He smiled and slapped it again.

The creature released another nasally, buzzing sort of waaaaaaaggghh sound, and Nen'tah couldn't have been more in awe. It hopped forward a short ways, trying to put a measure of distance between itself and the offending child.

Nen'tah crouched clumsily, wobbled forward - then made to leap on top of it, but ah! The toad was too fast, and his chubby paws fell on empty air.

Amazing!

RE: I'm gonna get ya, get ya, get ya - Tsaałi - 5/28/2026

skill: hunter

While his siblings seemed to be more solidly settled, Tsaali still struggled sometimes with keeping his legs under him. He was old enough now that it shouldn't have been an issue. He was unaware of any of his parents' and family's concerns, at least now, since they had not faced the Long March yet. It would be a new experience for them all, and they would be tested. What tested him now was the interesting smell that he'd noticed. Nen'tah was on the move. Tail wagging, he trekked after his brother, who hadn't gone that far away, as if he was the sneakiest.

A sudden, unexpected sound broke the sneaky-silence, and Tsaałi's brow furrowed. What was that??

And then again. It was unlike anything he'd ever heard, not like the sounds of their den, not like the birds that occasionally sang nearby. This was not a pleasant sound, and his expression shifted into a scowl as it was repeated again! He stopped in his tracks as he saw his sable brother pounce - but the thing was too fast! Tsaałi gasped, the sound probably a comical stage-whisper at best, and stopped next to Nen'tah. Eww! A childish response to seeing the toad, but the boy couldn't help himself. Nen'tah, Tsaałi said as he crouched down next to his brother. wha' you find?

Maybe his little brother knew more about this ugly little creature, who now stared at both cubs. It looked kind of puffed up, like the way he had seen some of Saatsine before addressing a potential threat. But it stared at them. Did that make them the threat?
