Sunshine and Lollipops - Sparrow - 5/12/2026

set 4/20

After a few days of rest and bandaging, Sparrow wanted...a trip down memory lane.

Howling River, former home of the Howling Hoodlums, current home of an eternal blue flame.

Of course, Persimmon followed along, and it wasn't like she was going to ask Fable to babysit someone else's kid while her own were missing. It was nice now though, since he was...well, a little bundle of sunshine, and his wounds and paw were bandaged up. Sparrow walked past the tree that had scratches on it, her border markings, the thieves cant that meant Safe House. Home. It was.....sad to see. Nice to see.

A whole lot of emotions all rolling around inside, missing the family that they had made, missing Honcho most of all.

But they were coming up on the blue flame now, Sparrow closed her eyes and let the warmth wash over her, the glow of her scars brightening up to match with the flames....somewhat at least.

RE: Sunshine and Lollipops - Persimmon - 5/12/2026

Persi wouldn't have stood to be left behind, anyway! He was a good little boy, no doubt, but being left in a strange place was something even he didn't want to do. Not that the Avon people weren't really nice, but... well.
Sparrow was Sparrow.
A babysitter, but someone of the Oasis he'd become fond of. He didn't want her to leave him behind!

Plus, it wasn't like his wounds slowed him down! Getting patched up had alleviated a lot of his tiredness, and now, he was right as rain! Ready to go! His wounds still stank with vague infection, not that he could tell; not like it would've stopped him, either.

Sparrow still seemed to know where they were going; leading them into a forest much more dense than the palms he'd grown up within. It was strange, here! Wet. The very earth beneath his paws was different; thicker even than the area where Mutter dug and spoke of her plants. There was still sand in the earth, there.
Here, it was hard. Packed.

It also glowed here! Not the earth, but the air! He wondered if theyd find another portal to go through! He thought to ask, but when he looked to Sparrow, she looked... sad. Persi was all too familiar with the distant gaze of those lost in thoughts of the past.
He just padded along a little closer.

Still, he couldn't contain his awe when the fire actually came into view. He spurred into a trot, tail high and wagging.

What's that!

It was warm! And it looked soft!

Was it?
