We are more than we are, We are one. - Jamila - 8/8/2026

It seemed like only yesterday that the pups were small and blind. Squeaking and helpless as they remained in the mother's den. Now the day had finally arrived for her beloved children to see the outside world. At two months old now, her son and daughter were ready to explore and sight see. Come along, my loves. Jamila cooed for them, nuzzling her two small pups from their morning slumber. Outside the air was just starting to warm up. A slight dip in the humidity brought welcome relief to the wine colored wolf. Molten eyes turned to see if Nour and Malek were rushing to catch up to her. Somehow it was still hard to believe. Believe that she was a mother, that she had grown a real future.

Nothing in this world would keep this boy from his Momma. Malek was going to make sure of that. The little ball of brown and red fur came rushing out of the den, eager to keep his place at his mother's side. A round ball of puppy fat and fluff, he was now hiding behind her legs as best he could.

Good thing too, for the light of the morning sun had done its best to weaken the boy's sight. His baby blues were still sensitive, almost fragile. Squinting and batting his dark lids a few times to focus, Malek managed to get a good look of his large world. Though did not forget about the beloved sister he was still waiting on to join them. Oh wait, where is Papa?

Time had certainly flown for the young couple. Not too long ago Iriel was comforting his wife when they initially found out about the pregnancy, and now? Now the pair were taking the young babes outside the den for the first time, they were just old enough to see the outside world. Iriel stuck behind them all, yes times had been good. But you never know what may happen.

With a wagging tail, he tried behind little Nour, ushering her forward with the gentle nudge of his muzzle. Helping her to climb out of the den.

Come now little Nour, aren’t you excited to see your home? He asked her. His voice soft and full of nothing but love and encouragement as he guided the little pup outside to join her mother and brother.

Nour had been awake long before anyone realized it, not because she had been eager to leave the den but because she'd been listening. Tiny ears twitched beneath an oversized coat of russet and cream as she lay curled against the warmth of her family quietly collecting the morning. The steady rhythm of her mother's breathing, her brother's impatient little huffs. The soft scrape of paws outside where her father waited. It all fit together into a story before she'd even opened her eyes.

Mama sounded happy today, papa sounded excited. Malek... sounded like Malek and the little girl smiled to herself.

When her mother's voice finally drifted over them sweet as birdsong, Nour stretched with an exaggerated little yawn before rolling onto her paws. She accepted the affectionate nuzzle with a delighted giggle, pressing her own tiny nose beneath Jamila's chin for only a heartbeat before bounding after her. Or... attempting to.

Halfway out of the den she found herself stopping instead head tilting upward as her father appeared behind her. Golden eyes, still wide with the innocent wonder only a pup could possess searched his face as he gently nudged her forward. I am coming! she laughed her voice bright enough to chase away any lingering sleep. She leaned into his muzzle for just a second before scampering ahead only for her tiny paws to freeze the instant sunlight spilled across her face.

...Whoa. the den had always felt enormous, but this...this was everything.

Crimson leaves danced overhead like they had been painted across the sky itself. Warm air carried hundreds of unfamiliar scents at once making her little nose twitch so rapidly she sneezed. Somewhere nearby birds argued loudly over something terribly important insects hummed beneath the grass, and the breeze itself seemed alive.

Her mouth fell open, So... another slow turn ...big wonder overtook hesitation almost immediately, curiosity always won.
