Cross-Species Breeding!
We are happy to announce that Vivarium will now allow Cross-Species Breeding through the Magic Tree located in Lake's Halo in Westmoor Wakes.
Some guidelines that we'd like to mention that will be reflected in the guidebook:
- The tree cannot make unnatural hybrids such as cougar x wolf, it must be one of the two.
- The litter doesn’t have to be one species, it can be mixed. For example some bear cubs and some wolf pups.
- While children are allowed to have the color palette of either parent, they must stick to the pattern rule for their species. No wolves with tiger stripes (brindle is an allowed pattern for wolves, however it usually only happens when a parent is brindle) and tigers must have stripes. This is to avoid design issues cropping up in the future and keeping a “neutral” fantasy theme.
- The suggested gestation time for the tree is equivalent to wolf breeding which is outlined in the guidebook (50 to 75 days)
- Characters cannot use the tree until both parties are at least 1.5 (18 months)
Staff would ask that the player base keep in mind the realism behind instinctually solitary and pack mentality animals. We want to keep the playing field even for all. We want to avoid too unrealistic and overpowered groups for players still wanting to play smaller animals, wolves, or sentient prey animals.
