All I've learned has overturned - Osamu - 1/4/2025

Snow did not often reach this far south of the continent, but nevertheless, Queen's Rest did enjoy a small dusting of it from time to time.

Osamu sat perched upon a boulder overlooking the shoreline, marveling at the strange contrast between pale snow and the gently-lapping ocean that gripped and continually pulled it back out to sea. Small, drifting flakes fell from the sky, most of them melting before they could reach the ground; a few settled along the bridge of his nose, and the grizzled wolf felt a ghost of a smile tug at the corners of his lips.

It reminded him of somewhere before - long, long ago - in another life.

The sunset hadn't been particularly memorable, but the sky did not owe him its beauty. Osamu let out a low groan as he stretched his aching muscles, stiff from the cold air; the flat slab he presently sat upon likely wasn't helping either, but the Samurai did not care much for comfort.

Instead he simply adjusted his seat and continued to gaze out to sea.

The large outline of a man she knew all too well, as the image of him infected her mind like a virus as of late. Izumi never imagined to turn a love sick fool at her mature age, yet here she’d been staring longingly at the samurai who rested at the boulder.

She bellowed a soft chuff his way, eyes glued in his direction and waited for him to look her way. A lilac gaze that clawed for his attention….
