Thread Title: 「 I will always love you 」

The sun sets as it always does, a deep indigo painting the sky as silver stars guide your way. While you’ve never disliked the darkness, you can’t help but wish there was a bit more light. As if hearing your thoughts, a small pink twinkle flashes warmly in front of you. Its glow was soft and delicate, showing and vanishing in the blink of an eye. You begin to wonder if it was your imagination, but then dozens of pink lights start to dot the forest. Huh, you’d never seen pink fireflies before, but you’ve seen stranger things, haven’t you? They light your way, directing you… somewhere. Your heart swells, the dim yet rosy glow is quite romantic, it makes you wonder what their plan was, lighting your path in a direction you didn't plan to go.

RE: And IiiiIiiiIII will always love you - Nóttin - 2/6/2025

With all of the recent events including the tournament going on, it was time that the sweet soul of Dawnbreak had gotten some time off for himself. Nóttin had taken off from Northfall's borders, doing some exploring in the lands beneath the mountain's great gaze. Ribbons of bright colors streaked across the sky as the sun began to sun. Shades of pinks, violets and indigos brought a warmth to his chest that he hadn't felt in a while. It was a nice reminder that not everything in the world was filled with doom and gloom.

The sable man continued on to a deep forest nearby, his eyes catching sight of something rather odd in the distance. That's when it vanished, then reappeared again. A single pink flicker of light, a sparkle, danced in front of his glacial blues. Then took off into the foliage as if being instructed by an unknown force. Nóttin followed after it, chasing it with great enthusiasm wondering if this was some kind of grand surprise. The pink sparkle did lead him somewhere in fact, but not necessarily to a specific place. Rather a specific something: pink fireflies. What on earth?

Branwen had no idea what was happening.

She had been wandering, weaving her way through the thick foliage, humming a tune to herself—something about the sun sinking into a bed of violet and rose—when suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, there was movement. A flicker of pink light. At first, she thought it was a trick of the sunset, the way the sky painted everything in its golden embrace. But then it moved again. And again. And then—oh, that’s a man.

Branwen halted mid-verse, blinking in surprise as the dark figure stepped into view, his glacier eyes reflecting the strange, pink glow. She wasn’t sure what was more unusual—him or the fireflies. Pink fireflies. That was new. Her confusion was written all over her face, but then… her lips curled into a slow, delighted smile. If there was ever a moment meant for song, this was it. Even if no one was around to hear it.

The bard resumed her tune, stepping lightly over the undergrowth, letting the melody spill from her lips like honey. "Oh, the sun weeps into the sky’s embrace… a lover lost in twilight’s grace…" she sang, twirling once beneath the soft glow of the fireflies.

She cast a glance at the stranger, curiosity glinting in her ruby gaze. “Are they always this color, or have we both had a bit too much of their fruits?” She mused, tilting her head playfully. "Because I swear I only had one—or three—but surely not enough for hallucinations.” Branwen giggled, attempting to make small talk with the stranger nearby.

The pink fireflies continued their little dance around the wolf, keeping his attention on their magnificent sparkles and whimsical fluttering of their wings. One even came over and sat on his nose for a moment, prompting him to sneeze at their pink dust. Was that dust? Maybe, maybe not. What did take his thoughts off of it though, was the presence of another wolf nearby. She sang a little song that caught his attention, but he kept his distance for now. Nóttin noticed how pretty her coat was, but remembered instantly that he only had eyes for his little dove, his Dalmatia. No one else would do. But he was curious as to who this wolf was, and what she was doing here. Had the fireflies guided her here too?
