Tiberii's heart was heavy. Emotion continued to cascade over her in waves, and she would fluctuate from angry and screaming, to quiet and cold. Instability threatened, encroaching upon her with a viral toxicity that tainted her very thought process. Images would flicker through her mind in bursts, and it did not matter if she was asleep or awake.

She would shiver, feeling the cold of the lake.

She would see Genghis slip beneath the dark blanket.

The titan shook her head, trying to dislodge the painful pictures, trying instead only to remember the silver linings. The positives — despite how few they were. But Dawnbreak had banded together in a powerful display of force. They'd attempted to save Genghis's body and his honor, and even though they could not do that, they showed the ultimate respect for one another. No one else had needed to perish. No one else ... Tiberii could not lose anyone else.

They were family. All of them.

And so, she made her way toward the more distant den that Hexx had taken as his own. The air surrounding her was calm, the sun cascading down from an unusually blue sky. The snow around her twinkled, glittering in the air around her as she moved through it like a small plow. And as she neared the edge of his den, she would release a soft, familiar wuff to alert him of her presence. Hexx? She wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't home, but, perhaps he would be resting.

She'd slow herself at the mouth of his den, pulling to a halt and letting the sun warm her back.

He had his own thoughts regarding the loss of Genghis' remains and how they had all turned on him for a single comment as if he alone was at fault, when he too had thrown himself into danger to retrieve their lost comrade and give him a proper burial. The soldier had found content in distance ever since, arriving reluctantly to the meeting but sticking close to Golde and disappearing quickly without a vote to be had.

The man still did his patrols, as half hearted as they were, but had returned to his den to rest his wounded leg when a familiar voice called his name. He would blink, lifting his head and gazing to the maw of the den which was shadowed by the large dark figure. ❝ Tiberii ❞ came his rumble, slowly heaving himself back to his feet he limped to the maw. ❝ How are you holding up? ❞ he mused plainly, ears lifting to his crown.

The soft rumble of the somber soldier would rise from within the darkness of his den. Gray eyes would peer, seeking her through the silence and locking onto her calcite gaze. He met her with steel, where she met him with fire.

Genghis's death had left her vulnerable. And without knowing, he would crack through her weakened armor. That gaze, once stoic and seeking, would water and squint, pained with the distant acceptance of a death that she had not been ready to witness or partake in.

Truthfully? A pause. M'not holdin' up at all, she'd tell him, honestly, the roughness of her voice catching with emotion as she diverted her gaze. Her ire was obviously not meant for him, a secret hatred that she'd brewed up only for herself and her own failures ... but she could not bear to look at him. But I wanted ta make sure ya were okay ...with yer ... yer leg. She still wasn't looking at him, the heat of uncried tears blurring her vision as she attempted to compose herself in front of her comrade.

He'd done so much for her.

With so few words. But he didn't need to use them.

And she, at this moment, did not know how to use hers.

Hexx studied her carefully, not oblivious to the emotions and grief that threatened to break the surface. Hexx may struggle to connect, or feel them himself ─ but he still recognized that grief. And this recognition was signalized by a slight head tilt, hardly noticeable to those that weren't looking for the mans subtleties. "Truthfully?" there was a faint dip of his nose that ensured he did want her to be truthful. While Hexx was shaped by a brutal idea of strength; it was not something he imposed on others. And even though his fathers ways were imbedded into him; deep down he knew they were wrong.

"M'not holdin' up at all," she cast her eyes away from him, as if afraid to let him see it. But he watched on with a certain resolved patience. "But I wanted ta make sure ya were okay ...with yer ... yer leg." ❝ You shouldn't worry about me, ❞ he dismissed. ❝ I'll be fine ❞ always. Hexx was a constant, in the lives of all those who welcomed him in them.

❝ You can talk about it ─ about Genghis. ❞ he offered, slowly sitting down leaning his shoulder against the stone wall of the dens entrance.

Tiberii Shakti-Vaès
Stoicism was Hexx's specialty, and as Tiberii spiraled, the stalwart soldier kept perfect composure. Where he was militant and disciplined, she was a savage and untamed wildfire. She let her emotions run her, and she still did not know how the fuck she was supposed to keep them under control. Not when life kept hitting her like this.

Over, and over.
So she unraveled.
In front of him.

If I don't worry 'bout everyone else, I may jus' go crazy in my own head, she told him weakly, still trying to balance herself with some soft humor.

"You can talk about it ─ about Genghis."

Tiberii's gazed wavered. Part of her wanted to be angry, because that was easier — what was left to talk about? He was dead, and Tiberii had nearly killed everyone in an effort to recover an empty vessel. But did withheld her anger, because it wasn't meant for Hexx. She would save it for when she was alone.

The bull would sit, glancing toward her paws.

He cared 'bout everyone, she started. Like her. When she'd run away. He'd not only protected her, he'd supported her. Had a big heart. An' he saw the worth in everyone, even if they'd made a mistake, ya know? She ran her tongue over her lips, blinking against the heat in her eyes. Tiberii had a father, of course. One that she respected and loved ... but Genghis ...  To me, he was Courage.

She'd finally lift her eyes.

Thanks, she hummed roughly. Fer listenin' ... an' ... fer tryin' so damn hard ta save him. Tiberii owed the world to her packmates, and especially to Hexx.
