Northfall King's Tourney: Spider x Vitus - narrator - 2/15/2025
THE KING'S TOURNEY
One by one, combatants fell - or relented - to their opponents. The day deepened and winter's chill threatened to return when the imminent cape of night descended upon the mountain. For now, daylight held strong for the near-last warriors to return to the ring.
Hours had droned by since the battles first began, yet the fervor of the crowd seemed only to grow with each passing moment. Valhalla itself held its breath for the next strike. Clouds had gathered in gradually in the once-clear sky but, at last, a shaft of sunlight would break through, pooling down upon the congregated bodies and the two silhouettes within the ring. If that wasn't a call to arms from the heavens themselves, then one never could have existed.

SPIDER X VITUS
SPIDER is attacking first.
RULES
- Each spar is 3 rounds. Before typing out your post, place your dice roll in a post and then edit in your written post. If you are unsure how to roll dice, please see the fields below with each roll code!
- The entrant with the highest roll totals at the end of 3 rounds is the winner. They will progress to the next stage of the tournament.
- Maiming and death are disallowed UNLESS cleared with your thread partner first.
- Each player has THREE DAYS to post for their turn or they will be forced to forfeit the fight. This is imposed to help keep things rolling.
- Predetermined winners MAY be chosen, but it must be communicated and agreed upon by both parties in the fight. If you choose to do this, please denote that a winner has been predetermined, you do not have to signal who wins if you wish to maintain the suspense.
- This battle uses NO modifiers.
- If you win a no-modifier fight and your next opponent DOES use modifiers, you will need to decide if you wish to continue or "forfeit" to your opponent. The same rule applies to off-screen fights. If your chosen preference is off-screen fights, you will need to decide between continuing on-screen or forfeiting to your next on-screen opponent.
- Off-screen fights will roll three d5 in the dice channel in Discord and the one with the highest roll result is the winner. (Command to use: /r 3d5) If you wish to predetermine the winner between yourself and your opponent, that is your choice!

He was up against a yearling, the boy smelling of Northfall, a relative of the man the tournament was for perhaps? His heart went out to the boy, as they circled eachother, but he was still in the fight, so!
Spider sprung, going in quick for a nip at Vitus' leg.

An older man, battle scared, wary.
The two circled eachother, Vitus' concentration clear on his face, ready to react the moment Spider went for him. The man was fast, and got his teeth on his back thigh while Vitus was turning to bite him in turn, jaws in the other's scruff and gripping, pulling.

The boy's light, and the grip on the back of his neck is tight. So what's a man to do except take him for a spin? He shifted his weight, pulling and spinning quick to unbalance the yearling that kept holding on to his scruff.

He was going for a ride it looked like, Vitus was hanging on and sliding around the arena as Spider twirled, refusing to let go. He waited until the man slowed, before letting go and shoving, getting his teeth in at the base of Spider's neck.

Oh this was a situation he'd gotten himself in.
It had felt like the yearling was losing his grip, but that was his mistake, he was clearly out of practice. Who knew nearly two years away from his old life of fighting and training would do him dirty like this?
He felt teeth at his throat, and he gagged as he was shoved back, reaching his paw up to try and shove the boy away.

He could see why his siblings enjoyed this, fighting.
He had fur up his nose though, so that was uncomfortable, but still he shoved and he shook until he felt Spider's paw shove him away, bounding back with his tail raised and his head high in victory.
