this ain't a scene - Tiberii - 3/19/2025 Skill: BACKDATED, for Nóttin, set in the following days after his "inauguration!" ![]() Tiberii was heavy. Genghis's wake weighed upon her, compressing the remains of her soul into a pitiful little ball as the reality of everything knocked her down. All she could see was his form sinking into the infinite blackness of the lake. All she could do was recall the uncomfortable thought of counting the votes to see who would replace him. And she hated herself for thinking that way. But she knew. She knew Genghis would not want her to wallow. He would want her to move forward with his spirit in mind. And that was why her heavy paws pressed onward, drawing her large frame toward the outskirts of the dens. Her ears were flipped backward upon her skull, the deep darkness of her soul written clearly across her sleeve as she swallowed her own pain to seek out her newest Pillar. Nóttin. Before her journey, she'd stopped at her den to pick up a gift for the newest Pillar of Courage. A gift for her friend. Nóttin? Her voice sounded in the early morning, muffled against the object in her teeth as her gaze scanned the snowy horizon. RE: this ain't a scene - Nóttin - 3/19/2025 It wasn't that no one wanted him, or trusted him. It wasn't anything particularly personal. He just wasn't Genghis. Even now, it hurt tremendously to say his name. Just thinking it brought a tear to his eye, his heart sinking ever lower as he struggled with the new life and role he was about to live. Tiberii's voice and presence did not go unnoticed by the new Pillar of courage. Nóttin had been making his rounds near the borders, coming back over to the outskirts of the dens for some quiet solitude when he heard his friend calling his name. The sable man was doing his best to carry himself a little more proudly and with a purpose. But it was nard to let go of the stinging pain that was the loss of a dear friend. The large canine would be more then dearly missed, this he knew. But at the same time, Nóttin knew that Genghis would not want them to mourn this way. He wouldn't want his packmates to sink in an endless sea of sorrow and grief. Somehow they would all need to find a way to move on. With all of them working together, in time, they would be. I'm here, Tiberii. It's nice to see you again. However he wished that they were meeting again under less stressful and sad circumstances. RE: this ain't a scene - Tiberii - 3/31/2025 Skill: ![]() The bull would smile as Nottin turned toward her, pushing through her grief to show a flash of gratitude and compassion toward the male. As hard as it was for them to all lose Genghis, Tiberii could not begin to imagine the heft of 'wearing the crown' of responsibility that Genghis had once borne. Of course, Tiberii would never put such pressure upon Nottin — this was not a "replacement," no, but a necessary point of growth for Dawnbreak. Still, she could imagine how she would let that weigh upon herself. An' ya too, she'd reply, dipping her head as she neared him. I, uh, wanted ta give ya this. She'd lower her head, opening her jaws to reveal the gift. It was a canine tooth from a bear — the bear, if Nottin recognized it — carefully woven with leaves and vines into a necklace. Thanks to Sølvi's "friend," it had been made into something wearable. Or, at least symbolically wearable. If ya want it, o'course, she'd tell him, lifting her head back up for a moment and flicking her ears. The bull grew solemn, but there was determination glittering behind her gaze. I appreciate ya steppin' forward with such courage. It sounds corny, m'sure, but ... it really means a lot ta me. And ta Dawnbreak. They respect tha hell outta ya.She'd dip her head, running her tongue over her teeth as she allowed herself a few moments to be vulnerable. She worried he might think it was a bit underwhelming — maybe even lame. Her ears would flatted a bit atop her head, but she maintained her soft smile. Tiberii hoped the intent would speak with greater volume ... she was notoriously bad with words, so she hoped this action might show Nottin how grateful she was ... on behlaf of herself, and the wolves of Dawnbreak. RE: this ain't a scene - Nóttin - 3/31/2025 The Pillar of Power came ever closer, a hesitant yet soft smile across her lips. But he could see the endless sadness that she was harboring. They all were to some degree. Even though he hadn't known Genghis long, his loss also struck him hard. Now it was his solemn duty to fulfill the role he left behind. No pressure, right? Nóttin watched her as she opened her mouth, ears flicking in curiosity at what she was about to offer him. When he saw the tooth made into a necklace, a wave of a thousand feelings came over him. Of course he would recognize the tooth from the bear that had attacked him. How could he forget? Of course I will Thank you, Tiberii. The new Pillar grabbed it delicately letting his nose guide it over his neck as he let it slip from his mouth just slightly after taking if from her maw. The necklace now hung from his neck, a gripping reminder of the events that had taken place. I never truly thanked you all for saving my life. I am eternally grateful. It was difficult to show how much he was grateful for their help, even to his own sister, so he left it at that. Nóttin listened intently to her as she spoke further, not really sure how to digest everything that had happened in what felt like such a short amount of time. But he did his best to express his feelings about the whole situation in the moment. It's not corny at all. To be truthful, I am still reeling from all of this myself. I am honored that the pack would think so highly of me, and trust me with such an important rank. I have never been a leader of sorts before, but I remember watching my mother and father rule for some time. I can only imagine how they felt. Memories of the Isblod came rushing back for a moment, causing him to mentally shake himself off. It was difficult to regain himself, but he willed it so for the time being. I hope that I can live up to everyone's expectations. I will do my best not to fail you all.Ears flattened slightly, his gaze turning even softer and more heartfelt as he spoke. And he hadn't even began to deal with what was going on between himself and Dalmatia That was for another time entirely. |
