Is this what I’ve been dreaming of? - Fawn - 4/10/2025
She’d been running and running and running and… then she was sleeping and then. Now she was awake. Now she was sitting bleary-eyed and terrified in the gutter of a beautiful spring day. She whipped her head around, back and forth to assess her situation and when nothing jumped out at her she relaxed. A little. Her hackles were still up and her ears were still pinned but other than that she was… adjusting.
Fawn was running through everything in her head, about everything that had happened and… everything that hadn’t. What was to be her mission in life now? She had been abandoned by the one person that was supposed to love her and keep her safe— and she wasn’t even going to touch what her family had wanted for her because—because she had failed them and now she didn’t know where she was and she didn’t know what was going on…
So what now? Her gaze shifted to the tall stones surrounding her, and she kept her rump on the ground because her legs were shaking so bad she wasn’t sure she would be able to walk if she tried.
