[BIRTH] The rain had brought the flowers - Fiadh - 4/20/2025

Fiadh hadn't even realized it was finally time.

Occasional cramps and discomfort had become the warrior's norm over the last few days, so when the pains became sharper she just winced and went on with her day. Not that there was much for her to do besides sit around and keep Sparrow company, the little wolf having had a run in with the poisoned river and recovering here in Avon, but it started to get unbearable once the rains finally started.

Now normally she wasn't one to hide away from the sky, her thick coat protecting her from the weather usually unless it's a downpour, but right now she was making her way towards the den.

That alone was probably enough to set alarm bells off.

Fiadh's thought process, was that a nap would fix this.

And then the pains were sharper.

Dimitriiii Fiadh called out. Get Fable. And. Spider? Fuck, I don't know

------

It was long, it was annoying, and it hurt, but here they were at long last.

Unnamed...as of yet..but here. Healthy and perfect, six fat little bundles, one with a bright red coat....

Fiadh looked at Dimitri. She looks like my dad

RE: [BIRTH] The rain had brought the flowers - Dimitri - 4/20/2025

Thanks to the effect of whatever plant she had taken, Dimitri had not panicked. Some part of her had wanted to, but she didn't.

And now, she sits, staring down at the wriggling pups. Six. Six children. Fable is a saint, letting them all stay here. And Helping, no less.

She glances at the red one. "Does she?" For a moment, Dimitri wonders if that's a good thing or not. "Can I name that little one?" She gestures at the darkest child, her black fur drawing Dimitri's gaze.

'course they're yours too Gods, what was Hawk's original name? She can't name the baby Hawk.... there was a part of her that still didn't want to name the chldren, her little eaglets, but they need names here just like she had needed a name on arrival.

When she had pulled Fiadh out from her ass, her sire's mother...right, right. That's what his was.

The red one is Darragh...the others... They had come up with some names, before, but to decide which of the pups gets which?

RE: [BIRTH] The rain had brought the flowers - Dimitri - 4/20/2025

"That one is Sasha, then." She'd insisted on naming the babies; Fiadh's culture might be different, but Dimitri could not stand for a child having to earn something as basic as a name. Her children would not need to earn the basic right to be seen and acknowledged. They deserved it by virtue of existing. And Sasha... a name that had been circling in her head for some time...

"Darragh. I like it." She doesn't have the context to know it's a boy's name, and honestly, she has a boy's name by technicality. Though, she doesn't consider it a boy's name, because she's not a boy, and Dimitri is her name, so perhaps Darragh will feel the same. "And this golden one... Ksyusha? I can't recall, you liked that name, right? I know we also discussed Siobhan..." And while it had been Fiadh's suggestion, she rather liked Siobhan.

My Darling, You will never be unloved by me, you are too well tangled in my soul

The oldest pup, first to be born was thriving, her delicate paws stretching for the skies limit, unable to tell what way was right side up. She adorned a silver coat, thick as can be with golds speckled along her back. Dull as of now, they'd be sure to darken as time went on, if not, oh well it'd still be a unique sight to some.

Finally untucking a paw out from under one of the several pups, the small bundle of fur rolled to it's stomach. Stretching out, extending each green...well, 3 green grey paws and a singular white one, a squeaky wail breached the air, not hunger, no, this was just at the lack of warmth.

Anger? Sadness? happiness? these emotions were nonsense to the pup as of right now, and would make not a lick of sense until a bit older. For now, she was focused on finding the warmth of her mothers fur, scurrying for the grey fur inch by inch. Although..her wriggling was getting her no where, she could hardly tell this though.

RE: [BIRTH] The rain had brought the flowers - Sasha. - 4/21/2025

Skill: N/A

All was dark and silent. Perhaps the only thing that didn't change as senses suddenly overwhelmed the little body; from warmth to cold, damp to dry, a world devoid of anything, suddenly exploding with scents and feelings and tastes she never once imagined. The little black pup could do nothing but wheek like a helpless rodent, writhing against the hardness of the earthen floor.

Scents grew familiar with every passing minute. She already knew the mass of soft fur, undulating rhythmically with breath, as security. Safety. Food. Another, a hard surface, unrelentingly cold; the earth. She didn't like the ground. It lacked the soft touch that her mother's fur could provide. Already was the little one spoiled, refusing ardently to part from warmth, pathetically caterwauling any time so much as a single limb would rest on the stone surface.

Sasha, she was named. Sealed ears could not yet hear the name she'd been given, yet her body still squirmed as Dimitri pointed her out, as though deep down, a part of her knew. Not because she heard her speak the title, not because she could see her mouth move with the shape—Sasha. Divine, perhaps, or spiritual; the mass of fuzz whined, nestling against Fiadh's body where she could feel a soft vibration each time the mother spoke.

Skippable until acknowledged.

RE: [BIRTH] The rain had brought the flowers - Fable - 4/25/2025

SKILL : - - - ( 1 / 5 )

Some sixth sense had compelled Fable to remain near homebase.

She had been tempted to venture out and catalog more of the herb growth that was slowly peppering itself into the territory bordering the Meadows, but she had hesitated. Surely it had been a thing of fate, for she was summoned to the densite of Fiadh and Dimitri for the arrival of their children.

Fable had gladly set off for their whelping den without hesitation, a smattering of hastily gathered herbs in tow. She had not forgotten the rigors of her own labor and each modicum of pain was nearly felt by sympathy - childbirth was never easy, never painless... but she was certain it was worth it when, at the end, the six beautiful pups were alive and well.

The relief of such buzzed within Fable's veins and she shifted back, affording the parents and their younglings space while she passed her sight across the small wriggling bodies.

They are a sight for sore eyes, Fable told the Elysium wolvses warmly, green gaze flickering between them. Congratulations on your wee wains - I will leave ye to it, but I am but a whisper away.

Before she left, she pressed a few herbs forward to Fiadh with her paw. Be sure t'eat these, they will help with milk, Fable informed her. She suspected there may be no issues with supply, but midwife that she was, she always erred on the side of caution. Taste like right bitters, but does th' trick.

She dipped her head briefly to the two - eight - of them before she extricated herself from their space, giving them the privacy to bond.

RE: [BIRTH] The rain had brought the flowers - Ksyusha - 5/8/2025

Small, weak, but by the five those lungs sure worked. The blonde babe was squeaking, little paws pushing out, already trying to make her escape before being nosed into thick fur and Food alongside other little wiggling bundles.

Ksyusha, she was named, though she didn't hear it. All Ksyusha knew was Milk Good?
