and all the fears you hold so dear will turn and whisper in your ear - Dimitri - 5/20/2025 Skill: Druid 1/5 Note the lay of the land. The creatures that inhabit it. The calls of birds. The swaying of grass. The world, in its infinite beauty and life, telling her that spring had dawned. And she ranged far today, having promised Fable she would give watch to the land in payment for Fable's kindness. Dimitri is no warrior. She is capable of killing, given her prowess at hunting, but she knows little about patrol. So, she notes the land itself, the beauty of spring, and the spirits alive in each gust of wind.
She comes to a babbling brook and stares at its clear surface, wondering if she could read anything on the surface of the water. An omen, or a truth. The spirits of the land have gifted all her daughters with life, but the gift could be rescinded at any moment. Foolishly, she believes she can save them from such a fate, with simply the right vision or ritual. But the water shows her nothing, and she stands up to move on. But the shadow across the forest shows another, and Dimitri takes a moment to give a name to the face. "Oh. You're real, too, aren't you." RE: and all the fears you hold so dear will turn and whisper in your ear - Sólúlfur - 6/4/2025 The borders were welcoming to both sides, the Sun-wolf reminded herself for perhaps the sixth time. Trespassing on Avon land had still not quite gotten to the point of feeling normal. But there was fox-scent careening down the mountainside and through the Meadows, and so Solulfur had felt compelled to investigate. It was the time of year for fox kits, and Solulfur didn't want any of either packs' pups encountering a protective mother vixen. To a full-grown wolf, a fox was little threat, but one could easily overpower an unskilled puppy. She was focused on the task at paw, the sunlight warm on her dark back and breeze perfumed with flowers. It was an idyllic day, so Solulfur was taking her time tracking, enjoying the good weather while it lasted. A voice, familiar, pulled her from her reverie. The Sun-wolf twitched with alarm, swinging her head up to squint suspiciously at the source of the voice. Oh! Dimitri.Solulfur greeted, expression relaxing. As real as the last time we saw each other,She teased dryly. Then, What are you doing at Avon? Her brows furrowed. I didn't miss a festival's invitation, did I?The embarrassment, the annoyance, if she had...Gods, Solulfur hoped not. |
