We're invincible - Ksyusha - 6/4/2025
The other day Fiadh had scared off a biiiig bird that was trying to get too close, or was it last week? Longer? Ksyusha had no sense of time, she may never gain a sense of time, but she knew it happened! The six of them have been told to stay in eyesight of the den, and while mammy's eyes were sharp and that leash she had on them was loose...
It's not like they can be in any real danger, right? They've touched the rock before leaving, Fiadh's on her perch on top of the den to get a better view of the lands, nothing can touch these pups except eachother.
So with their boundaries set, Ksyusha ran with a high pitched giggle.
Can't catch me!!She called out to her siblings, though if they joined in on her antics or not was up to them.

Sasha willfully ignored her sister's exuberant calls. Catch her... what, why should she pay attention to her sister, whom she'd seen all her life? There were things to discover beyond the den, things a lot more interesting than a golden dust bunny.
With Ksyusha's loud voice tuned out, Sasha's amethyst eyes were set on the ground, where odd plants were sprouting—small, white flowers, all in little clusters. What were these? Her head tilted as she moved her nose closer, inspecting them with a little sniff. Smelled... clean.
With a sneeze, the inspection of the flowers was abandoned in favor of picking them from the ground. Her small teeth dug into the plant's stem, her round body jumping back with attempts to tear it from the ground.
Alas, to no avail. The grip she had on the stem slipped, sending her tumbling across the clearing.

Éabha had been soooo busy chewing on her Ma that her jaw had began to cramp up yet..she felt no pain, just the stiff feeling of the cramps, so she had stopped and simply laid with her tongue lolled out of her jaws. Bright green eyes staring at the sky, The sound of her own sister calling out startled the silvery pup, her chest heaved a huff and quickly she stood up to her clunky paws. Each step seeming to be calculated, drawn out before doing anything.
The chunky pup moved, peeking out of the den and narrowing her eyes slightly to find the pelt of Ksyusha. Gaze focusing on the golden pup, the chewer as Éabha liked to saw..She didn't know what a shark was yet, but that's what Ksyusha would be called if Éabha did.
With a playful sway of her rump, due to the extension of her very spine. The pups eyes snapped to Sasha, a pup as dark as night with accents like stars that fell from the sky to paint her beautifully. With a soft grin, Éabha was hauling herself towards the other pup. Her bulky figure barreling the thinner pup over and into the grass once more, laughter rang into the air as she did so. Hurrying back to tap the rock she should've tapped before leaving but..It's fine, she did it now!
For a few seconds the silvery pup stood idle, staring at the bees dancing around the field. She wouldn't eat one..Not yet, not until she could jump enough to catch it, for now she simply stared before looking at the golden pelt that ran around.

Ksyusha skidded to a halt when Sasha got knocked over, pausing in her attempt to get the others to chase her for a moment to toddle over to the darker pup and sniff at her
did you die?She doesn't quite have a grip on death yet, it being such a new concept to her.

Her eyes were on the sky, there were no signs of that eagle so far for the last few days, but...maybe she had scared it off for good.
Fiadh stood tall atop their den, turning the hill into a watch tower so her children could be safe while they played. She held back a snort when she watched Éabha knock over Sasha, looking over the smaller pup briefly. There's no way the pair could hurt eachother, yet at least, but she was hoping it would toughen the girl up at some point.
She returned her attention to the skies before looking off through the fields, her lip raising up in a silent snarl when she spotted a pair of coyotes walking this way.
Kids, stay near the entrance, Mamma'll be right backFiadh called down, before jumping down behind the hill and moving to investigate.
Bad timing....as a waiting figure took to the sky, it's large shadow circling around the little clearing.
Picking out a pup.

When her mother spoke, Siobhan listened and nodded once, a single, rather large, body moving nod. She wasn't going to go anywhere anyway; she was busy.
Her eyes moved from the grasses to the hills and then to the sky, unaware of the coyotes that skulked in the distance. The shadow drifted like the clouds, a familiar sight, but one she wasn't fully sure of. It watched them often, waiting for something she wasn't quite sure of.
A bird, that was what they'd called it. Siobhan couldn't help but repeat it aloud, sounding the words out as she burned it into her mind.

The pup had been staring at Sasha and Ksy for a few moments, standing idle before romping around and jumping after little butterflies and crickets. Her limbs short and stubby, but her build allowed her some strength even if so young. Éabha quickly turned her gaze towards the shadow on the ground and giggled, attempting to chase it. Getting mildly confused when it would move, was this not something on the ground?
Was it even real?? Her mind seemed to explode with ideas as she crouched to sneak up on the shadow, thinking maybe it could get away if sudden movements were around..Perhaps she could sneak up and capture it!
That was a great idea! Alas, she was completely oblivious to the lingering danger in the sky, her eyes focused on it's shadow rather than realizing what she was chasing, was hunting her from above.

The time between the eagle swooping Eabha up and Fiadh saving her will be QUICK, the saving will be after people get a chance to react to a flying pup
With Fiadh off snarling at a pair of poor coyotes, the pups were unguarded. Presumably safe, right? Fiadh's just over there after all, dealing with another threat.
But the eagle was circling, and there was one pup separated from the rest, chasing it's shadow without the thought of looking up. An easy meal, perfect for her own nest of hatchlings waiting for her return.
The eagle dove, talons outstretched, sinking them into the soft grey pup before frantically flapping to try and get away before the green mother returned. But shit, this was a heavy one, and she wasn't rising as fast as she would like.
A few feet, but she hears the mother shouting.

The pup had chased the shadow around, her body moving with heavy steps and jumps. Each movement planned and coordinated but also seemed very unsteady, her green eyes narrowed when the shadow seemed to get...bigger? Or was it just getting wider? She couldn't tell.
Eabha didn't feel the pain she should've when the bird sunk it's talons into her, frantically trying to lift her from the ground. She giggled, that's all she did, not realizing the danger she could be in if Ma didn't save her in time. Her paws stretched out, eyes looking at each sibling with curiosity, soft yips slipped from the pup, then her eyes turned to Fiadh.
Ma! Lookie!
The silver pup continued to giggle, looking at the bird with curious eyes and a slight hum.
Birdie here is holding me!!
Oblivious..Naive, no, just..lacking her instincts of fear, pain and the idea of danger. Something seemed to stop this pup from even registering the pain of the talons, the frantic flapping would've caused that pain to increase but she just didn't care at all. Odd..
