[Midsummer] I bless this beast - Tyr - 6/27/2025

Midsummer's Eve, Boar hunt #1
Skill Point ― hunter 」

The time had come, and preparations were beginning to be laid out on the island. Wildflowers bloomed, their scents blocking out the negativity that threatened to darken the Skorungr's mind.

He stood in the southern lands of the island, eagerly awaiting his crew at the edge of the forest where he'd tracked the scents of those pesky, divine boars. The pigs had grown fat and were beginning to prepare for yet another season of piglets. It was time to cut them down before they grew out of control, and what better day to sacrifice one than on a day when they needed blessings.

Tyr inhaled slowly, allowing his chest to expand with the steady breath. Focus, poise; his eyes closed as he singled out the scents around him until the stench of pig filled his mind again. They were still here, and so far, completely unaware. It would be some time before everyone gathered, but it was better to do it early in the morning before guests arrived.

A single eye peered into the world, looking at the dawn light as it scattered over the grassy hills. They looked painted in pink and gold, like a veil over the wilds that he called home. Days like these had him feeling most at peace, but only time would tell. Skjoldrheim had just opened their gates, and if the still waters around them permitted it, they would have quite the festivity on their hands; paws?

RE: [Midsummer] I bless this beast - Rhadamanthus - 6/27/2025

Midsommer had arrived, and with it a ray of light that'd pierced through the haze of the plague. The island felt brighter, now, amidst the blooms and preparations. It was enough to distract the gloomy, grief-stricken minds from the harrow that creeps closer.

Good-tidings and great feasts remind Rhadamamthus of home. Of the celebrations he'd once partaken in, behind the walls of Ararnir. He hasn't had much to look forward too, given recent events, but even he's found himself imbued with the celebration's glimmer.

With careful steps, he'd followed the scent of Týr to where his king waits. Watching, with eyes keen; the scent of boar lay thick. Rhad strolls to join his side, eyes of the finest silver roving over the landscape. They would return with a pig before nightfall.

Good morning, Skorungr. Rhadamamthus rumbles, voice still thick with remnants of sleep, as he takes a seat. Today shall be a good one. Blessed. Or so he hopes.

RE: [Midsummer] I bless this beast - Mielikki - 6/28/2025

Skill: Herbalist [1/5]
cameo/skippable until her expertise is potentially needed.

Days in midsummer were good. Always. The forest grew lush with foliage, and the animals were always full-bellied and contented. Summer was the time the Forest Mother could, for once, feel at ease—recline against the vivacious woodlands and rest peacefully, knowing the flora and fauna were thriving even without her watchful eye.

That's how it was, at least. Before whatever ousted her from her goddesshood. When she'd heard the Skorungr mention a hunt for wild boar, skepticism blossomed immediately—prey animals had been strengthened by the abundance of warmth. Even without such an augmentation, a swine was not an animal to underestimate; they're strong, broad-bodied, bearing formidable tusks and an impressively strong wit.

Mielikki would not join the hunt. She was not built to fell such beasts. Instead, she stood along the treeline with small bits of plants in her grasp—a sprig of saskatoon berries, a small pile of oak leaves with a bundle of moss. She had not packed a lot—just enough to know that in the off-chance that someone gets injured, they won't be helpless.

RE: [Midsummer] I bless this beast - Thorvald - 7/3/2025

Tyr had mentioned a hunt for boar and Thor hadn't had a good hunt since he'd been a human. As a wolf he'd just caught things he could handle, a sick deer here, foxes and badgers there... The normal things, but now his mouth watered with the thought of fresh boar, a delicacy in any form, and the man pulled himself from his den to pad his way towards the gathering group.

When he arrived he noticed a female playing on the outskirts, he nodded at her as he passed by and walked towards the pair that had gathered. The scents of pig filled his nostrils in the pink tinged morn, fiery eyes flickered with keen interest as he nodded to them as sat near the two. The man stayed quiet, a look of seriousness was upon his face though he still bore a smile, Good morning to you both... He murmured deeply, his eyes bouncing between the pair as he awaited their words.

RE: [Midsummer] I bless this beast - Goldblossom - 7/5/2025

Goldy had been given an invitation to join their feasting amd revelry. Amd so here she was. Delicate steps she looked around with wide Azure eyes. Tail twitching. She didn't know what to say or who to talk too. And she thought perhaps eventually she could have a home here, but first maybe she should offer assistance where needed.

She licked along her muzzle. And walked nearby and waited quietly. Reclining her head to all those around. A hunt. She could help. Maybe not as a much. But she could run. And if anyone got hurt. She could help there too.
