i’m always in this twilight - Begonia - 7/23/2025 The dream was lasting longer than she had ever considered. But it didn’t bother Bee, who was intent on exploring this dreamscape for as long as she could. As long as her unconscious mind allowed it, she wanted to see the very corners of the world her mind had spun together. She even slept! It was so odd to sleep in a dream! The heat, however, was not very nice. Even with it being morning, it was already sweltering in such a way it made her want to do little more than sleep beneath a tree, or find a cold pool to float in. How she had always handled herself with heat, different now. But she was still looking. Prodding her nose into the corners of the world, looking for the coolest places to spend her time. Of course, it occurred to her all too late that she was, for all intents and purposes, a wolf in this dream. She could dig without trouble! Could drive her claws into the earth and rip to deeper, cooler places. So, upon the sun-warm plateaus that day, she had dug beneath a tree, and sprawled in the dirt. Bee giggled at a bug crawling determined over her toes, the beetle trying to climb up and over her carelessly thrown form. But every time it got close, it would fall back to the dirt. It didn’t allow that to stop it though, because it was back to climbing again. And she didn’t look away, no matter how many times it fell back to the earth. RE: i’m always in this twilight - Valor - 7/24/2025 The world has changed since she's last been here, the magic meant to destroy the wolves was wreaking havoc on the world for everyone. From the weird angry deer area to the river further north, and then the burning heat of the desert. What else was going wrong further? Valor was set on finding a rune, to help the small not-hyenas, and this was an area she hasn't really put too much exploration in. Climbing into the plateau was a trek enough, she knew she would need to put days into here to make the climb worth it, hell if she'd go up and down that hill more than once a day! But as she walked through the forest at the top, blanketed by the shade, she heard giggles and stopped. Swiveling her ears around, before looking down just a bit away to see a small wolf laying in a hole in the dirt. A cub? She hadn't smelled any others in the area yet... Well helloher voice was light, cheerful, a surprising tone considering just how big she was. Keeping cool dear? RE: i’m always in this twilight - Begonia - 7/25/2025 The beetle didn’t seem to care it couldn’t summit the mountain of her leg, and she wasn’t about to discourage it. It’s funny little legs tickled her, and she fought the urge to jerk and send the beetle flying again. She didn’t even look up until a voice rumbled over her, and even then, it took her a moment of processing before she realized someone was speaking. Bee raised her head, and openly gawped in such a way that her mother would have been appalled. Leagues taller than she, with a face that resembled something like the barn cats the old farmer up the road had roaming about, whatever creature her mind had dreamed up was a sight to behold. And Bee was beholding, alright. By Jove, my mind comes up with the strangest things…She half whispered to herself, the woman’s words from before beginning to settle in. How this was not, in fact, a dream, but somewhere she had been stolen away to. Like a fae king had come to toss her over the back of his horse. Her head buzzing, she dragged a paw down her nose, unwittingly unsettling her beetle friend enough that it flew another way. Yes, just so! It is quite hot, and there is no one around to scold me for being unladylike for digging! The revelation would arrive at a later date. For now, she just had to speak to this fascinating figure in front of her. RE: i’m always in this twilight - Valor - 7/25/2025 Valor's eyes squinted with amusement as the little wolf stared up at her, in shock? Understandable, she hasn't seen another lion on the mainland yet either, and she must be a sight to see. The cub spoke funny too, who was jove? No one around to scold me Oh no this was a lost cub. Why would you be scolded for digging? It's a good skill to haveValor sounded a little puzzled, she had never scolded her own cubs for digging, or...for any reason really. The lion stayed standing for a moment before walking closer and laying down to show she meant no harm. It's only going to get hotter i'm afraid, this is just the morning sun. It's also why she tends to travel at night when she can. My name is Valor, do you have a name yet? There she was assuming wolves have a similar naming system to the lions from the world she came from. RE: i’m always in this twilight - Begonia - 8/12/2025 This was a rather strange cat! But she was saying things Bee had always found to be true! Her tail thumped against the ground as she waved a frantic paw like she was pointing. Yes, just so! You understand! My mother never allowed me to dig holes, she said it was not a work I could fulfill. I never understood why only a boy could dig a hole while I had to attend comportment lessons and wear petticoats. The strange cat woman was called Valor, and wasn’t that a strong name! She hastily stood, before realizing she could no longer curtsey. Oh, bollocks. I have a name! I am Begonia Withersby, but I have always preferred Bee.Her tail was still wagging, and it was quite the odd feeling. RE: i’m always in this twilight - Valor - 10/3/2025 This cub sure said a lot of funny words that the lion didn't understand, watching as the little thing stood, her eyes squinting with a smile as she said her name-- an awfully long one at that. Well, Bee, it's nice to meet you dearher voice was warm, matronly, noting the tail wagging of Bee as a wolf's way of showing excitement..or was it happiness? Both? It's been awfully long since wolves were first described to her by the scrawny one she first met. What exactly is a comportment? It must be important if it was a lesson worth more than learning how to keep cool in the sun |
