Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - narrator - 9/22/2025 ![]() Westmoor Wakes, Autumn Event![]() Ranger Skill Event: PromptIt seems to be a normal morning in the Wakes ... well, at least at first. As the sun continues to rise in the sky, your eyes shift skyward as a heavy breeze rustles through your fur. You notice them, the virga clouds dancing in a way you've never seen before. They seem to call to you, their strange patterns almost drawing a map right before your eyes. It feels as if they are trying to lead you somewhere, guiding you to ... something. But what? If you can make sense of their patterns, surely you will find something that is worth your while. What will you do? RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Lyrae - 9/22/2025 Skill - Ranger She'd seen falling rain in the distance before, on the sea, off the coasts. Rainbows and fogs and all manner of strange shapes in the sky. But these were definitely cursed clouds, or fae-touched, at the very least. She knew because after a great deal of consternated staring, and a great deal longer of consternated trying-to-ignore-them, and a brief time yelling profanities at them in various languages, she was completely certain they were trying to talk to her. Which clouds were absolutely NOT supposed to be doing. Ever. Reading the sky didn't mean communing with it! No. She would not be following strange magic into what would undoubtedly be a trap contrived by otherworldly mischief-makers! She's participating. Kind of. LMAO
RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Elisabet - 9/22/2025 Skill - Ranger A message in the sky! The gods themselves were here! Adetunji moved his clouds in sweet colors as the Sun took her place where Moon had watched through the night, and Liss was not about to ignore such an auspicious sign. Family would be waiting, or if not, a sign onward toward another great adventure. She felt no fear at all. The most Wrathful one above had cleared the way and called out, and she thought Lestan 's people had been right about not fearing the storms, and finding the favor of the gods in courage and laughter. She laughed now as she ran beneath the shifting skies, following their strange trails toward responsa incognita. RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Sarge - 9/22/2025 Could anything in this godforsaken land ever behave normally? Or was he doomed to be forever tangled in the supernatural? Sarge muttered curses under his breath as he watched the virga clouds dance above. This wouldn’t end well. It never did. Damn it all. Yet could he really ignore the signs? Perhaps this was another step toward restoring peace to these cursed lands. Either way, duty called. With an exasperated sigh and a string of fresh swears, the old soldier fixed his gaze on the shifting clouds, searching for any hint of direction they might offer. Following clouds. God damn it. RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Daiyu - 9/28/2025 skill: ranger Her days had become a seemingly endless roaming. She had left the island when what little remained of her pack had broken away. Having recently thought to travel with @Regis, it seemed fate had put it into place for her. She never left the seaside for long, trailing through the wilds with the comfort of knowing home at sea was only a day away. This day, it was clouds which drew Daiyu's path - literally, as it were. Odd streaks of clouds stretching out in the sky, moving and forming in ways she had never seen before. Were they, trying to lead her somewhere? With a tilted head and hmmm on her lips, the woman decided to follow because, why not? RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - narrator - 10/1/2025 ![]() Westmoor Wakes, Autumn Event![]() Ranger Skill EventNO NEW PARTICIPANTS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS THREAD AT THIS TIME. At the end of October, this thread will close! There is no posting order, but be courteous to your other players so everyone can get their points! Story — As you look forward, the sky darkens. The clouds swirl, and you can almost see the misty trail that leads you forward. But the path it leads you down is not the familiar lands of the Wakes … no … if you follow it, you will see the outline of a massive tree, with branches extending upward into an unfamiliar sky. If you choose to move forward, it will begin to remind you of Lake’s Halo … the tree is eerily similar. And yet, the background is different. Around the base of the tree, you see a plethora of unusual herbs, their light blue petals waving in the sky. They are abundant, but you are not sure of their purpose. And once you take a few steps forward, the vision dissipates and the clouds retreat. You are back in the Wakes, left only with those who had gathered before. Strange. Outcome — You have the choice to follow this strange path, and if you do, it will lead you, for a few moments, to the misted edges of the Moving Isle. This strange island is new to the land of Mythris, seemingly popping up in random areas of the map. You are welcome to powerplay this knowledge: The Moving Isle is presently in the Great Woodlands, to the East of the Moonpeak Spire. You now have the knowledge of the Moving Isle’s new location. And there is a strange plant that you saw growing there. You might want to discuss how to find it, and collaborate on what it might be for … You may acquire up to 10 points toward your ranger skill — that is two points per post, for a five-post maximum reward. You may post more than this, of course, but 10 points is the max. You may allot these toward a Ranger Skill Badge or any offshoot of that class (messenger, scout, etc). EVENT BONUSESBONUS POINTS on top of that have been awarded (based on RNG): Lyra — +2 (up to 12 points total) Liss — +5 (up to 15 points total) Sarge — +2 (up to 12 points total) Daiyu — +1 (up to 11 points total) BADGE BONUS AWARD Everyone who participated has earned a badge! How spooky! ![]() RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Sarge - 10/1/2025 The vision was ethereal, beautiful, hardly the sort of words Sarge ever wanted to apply to anything in Mythris. The strange blooms held his attention, his gaze narrowing. Why these particular flowers? What secret did they hide? Only then did he realize his feet had been carrying him in their direction all along. Even unconsciously, he was being drawn toward this hell. Perfect. A handful of others had gathered nearby, watching the same vision. Well, at least he wasn’t crazy alone. What the fuck was that? The question was more rhetorical than anything. He snorted. Why should we trust some clouds to lead us anywhere but doom? This land can’t be trusted. Apparently, neither can the sky. Has anyone else seen this before? Or are we just something special? His golden gaze swept over the small group, curious to hear their thoughts. RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Lyrae - 10/2/2025 Skill - Ranger What the fuck indeed! Her attempts to leave had left her circling back on herself. Strange trees, strange plants, haunted clouds. And now, people she was half-convinced weren't people at all. Ears pinning back, Myna bristled at all of them, and answered the question with robust, outraged confidence, It's obvious, aye? We're trapped in a fuckin' faerie spell an' they're lurin' us to our doom. If we don't find a way outta tis mess, we'll all be eaten. Or worse. Mal would never let her live this down if he found out she had walked into a supernatural trap and he'd evaded it. She needed to escape before he found out. Or at least before he died of old age. RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Elisabet - 10/2/2025 Skill - Ranger Liss was ecstatic. At least until the others opened their mouths. Her ears flattened, and she pouted under big grey eyes and a furrowed brow. She'd heard a lot of stories about faeries, but she'd heard a lot more about the gods. Of the two, she was pretty sure she knew which could take credit, here. She wedged herself helpfully between the two who had spoken, tail wagging. Hi, I'm Liss! She didn't wait for their names, My Mam says the gods are the sky and speak to us with it! Adetunji tells the clouds what to do. So if he led us here, it must be important. If he really wanted to kill us you'd just get hit by a lightning bolt or something. Or he'd drown you in the sea. Or send a giant rock from the sky. Also! I had a dream a while ago where someone spoke to me and told me we were supposed to be helping the land, or something. It felt prophetic. She kind of remembered what she'd been told. Mostly. But she had a lot of dreams and sometimes she dreamed about the dreams she'd had before so it was a little muddied. Regardless, I think this feels the same, and we're supposed to go there. Plus there's a lot easier ways to eat people, and no offense, Miss, but I don't think there's much of you to eat, anyway, to make it worth the effort. So I'm gonna go check it out. You guys should come, too! RE: Let's steal a motherf***in' car tonight - Daiyu - 10/5/2025 skill: ranger A sky darkened. A hazy path laid out before her and as she walked along the mists she began to see an incredibly large tree before her, reaching out to the heavens. She knew this tree, or, well, she thought she had. Yet as she drew nearer, it became clear that this was not the same. The land around different. Not a great lake, but open ocean. In the green are an incredible amount of vibrant blue flowers, herbs which she had never before seen in her lifetime. Which wasn't saying much, given her reclusion to mostly coastal island. Then she was back. Along with the three other wolves who had been compelled into the celestial warp of interacting clouds. A man first, a woman of the sea (she noticed the accent) and then another. Rage filled the first two, yet Daiyu's own thoughts lie a bit more positive as the short, soft smokey brown girl. She spoke, alot, yet Daiyu found herself drawn to her open optimism. There is a tree like that here. Just as big, but this one, it was different... it's, it's on that island then, near the mountains to the west? She felt her head still spinning from the vision, trying to gather her thoughts together on what she just saw. I've never seen anything like those flowers before though... they looked magical. And being Daiyu, she really enjoyed collecting beautiful, exotic things. |
