Remember how we called it home - Aurelia - 10/13/2025

Skill: Meteorologist

Dawn came, and the Blood Moon vanished as if she had simply dreamed it.

While a heavy fog still clung to the earth, the sun had risen triumphant at last, bathing the world in its brilliance as it once again touched the tops of the mountains surrounding the Vale with vast, painterly strokes of resplendent joy. So bright was its return, it pierced through even the mist below as it became suddenly illuminated like shimmering gold dust.

Aurelia sat outside the Vale, perfectly seated on a large rock that jutted upwards just far enough to give her an elevated view over the haze.

There was something unsettling about this particular red moon. They had occurred before, yes, but never in her knowledge had one caused a week-long period of darkness; at times, particularly toward the end, the world had become so shrouded she couldn't even see in front of her own nose. It felt almost as if some terrible presence loomed just out of her peripheral...

Perhaps it was nothing.

The clouds parted, the birds sang, and the sun rose just as it always had.

And yet Aurelia doubted.

RE: Remember how we called it home - Jaegar - 10/23/2025

Alas the time came. That horrid phenomena of the accursed blood moon which expanded across what seemed to be the entirety of the surrounding lands in utter darkness had retreated back to whatever hells it came. A well earned sigh of relief had left the maw of the dark stranger, whom could freely move across these lands once more.

Admittedly the tall wolf had not a single clue on his destination. One minute he was fighting for his life in a battle against a large cat, the next? He wakes up in utter darkness, which only previously lifted. The shining sun illuminating the many potential paths this wolf could take.

Light steps danced across the snow of the frozen ground beneath his large paws. A need to figure out where in gods name he was was important. But first, food, and perhaps other wolves. Or some creature could certainly explain his sudden appearance within this..admittedly beautiful landscape.

Coming across the borders of what smelled like wolf scent markers. The strange wolf lifted his head, deep in thought. A focused expression laced over his expressions as he thought to himself. “Would crossing over and explaining his situation be the best course of action..likely not. It’s entirely possible they’d think me insane, sick even. He deducted a howl Wouk suffice for now.

Standing right along the edges of the oak lands borders, the wolf known was Jaegar reared his head backwards. Allowing a strong, solid howl to erupt from within his throat. Calling out to any nearby members of the resident pack who may had been patrolling nearby. His pride wouldn’t break from asking for a little assistance.

Aurelia

The sudden interruption nearly rattled her. How much time had passed? Frowning to herself, she scanned the horizon to try and catch a glimpse of whatever stranger now approached.

A tall figure emerged through the mist, his silhouette unfamiliar. Was this a member of Saatsine? Doubtful from the cadence of his howl - he sounded like a loner requesting refuge more than a diplomat seeking an audience.

Jumping down from her perch, Aurelia trotted briskly toward the stranger.

Identify yourself, she said, acutely aware she was alone. Life had taught her not to let her guard down. You tread near the border of Frostfang Vale, home of Dawnbreak.

Her eyes cut through the fog to get a better look at the stranger, but he remained shrouded in the embrace of the eerie mist.

Silence. Only the somber song of the looming quiet surrounded the tall stranger. Awaiting patiently for a single sign of a response, the canine paced the border. His tail laid still, flagging behind him as he lowered his head to scene the packs border. They were particularly more fresh than old. The pack still lived here at least.

Audits twitched and rotated, dragging the attention of Jaeger to the direction of what he heard. Paw steps. They were silent, and gentle. Likely just the singular being. Only managing to hear them as it was hauntingly silent. Then finally, the feminine voice pierced the veil of mist.

Identity yourself, she said. A shewolf who spoke as one who masked any fear or panic bubbling within. A voice filled with pride, and authority. So he complied.

I am called Jaeger. The wolf called out an introduction to her. Standing tall, as to peer through the dancing mist that masked the pair. Barely able to catch a glimpse of her faint silhouette. Excellent. At the very least there was a vague idea of where this stranger stood.

I apologize for my intrusion madam. As crazy as it may seem. I’ve appeared to have..awoken within these lands. And… Jaeger trailed off, taking a mere moment to swallow his pride, and ask for aid. Without an ounce of understanding of these lands, nor the dangers out there, I doubt I’ll make it too far. I’ve come to join your pack, this Dawnbreak you speak of. And provide my services. He exclaimed, honest, and vulnerable. He could only help she could feel his sincerity.

Aurelia

It rankled her that he didn't make an effort to close the distance between them. Should she have found herself treading near claimed land, she would have immediately made herself known and fully visible to its caretakers; instead, he merely straightened, allowing herself at least a glimpse of the tips of his ears over the cloying mist.

Well, it seemed she would have to come to him.

Given her petite stature, she ought to have felt a sense of caution. Short, light, and built of slender bone structure, she would objectively be easy to overpower and kill - but Genghis had taught her well, and Aurelia was not afraid. She had bested at least two seasoned opponents in the Northfall tournament, after all.

A sense of pride welled up in her chest.

She strode through the fog with the swift, commanding stride of someone who was not to be fucked with, and found herself staring up at the visage of a tall, brown wolf of similar age.

Aurelia pursed her lips.

Jaegar, she repeated. I am Aurelia, the current Wisdom of my pack.

She gave him a thorough once-over. He seemed sturdy, athletic; so far he'd done well for himself, not looking particularly anemic or malnourished. In fact, he looked the picture of health.

Many have arrived in this way, she said. Myself included. What services do you offer? What are your skills?

RE: Remember how we called it home - Jaegar - 11/23/2025

It wasn’t as if Jaeger could see all too well himself. The misty fog obscuring his vision just as much as any other. Though confident in his physical abilities, and combat prowess. He had no way of knowing if she and him were alone at this border. For all he knew an ambush could’ve been waiting if he crossed over. Caution ruling over, he remained standing exactly where he stood. Not a single maw stepping from the edge of the border.

As the she-wolf approached he finally caught a good look at her. A shirt, lightly built wolf, with a silver toned coat. An aura that radiated elegance. Both beauty, and power. Wisdom of the pack she said? She must be an important figure, one of intellect of that.

Seeing see was worthy of respect, the larger Jaeger dipped his head. Bowing in respect as she stood before him. His head, and tail hung low.

Only then would he finally speak up once again. Lady Aurelia, Wisdom of the the Dawnbreak pack. It is my honor to meet you. He said with a calm, formal demeanor before his lips parted to answer her questions.

I’d say I’m quite capable when it comes to combat and tracking. Though I’m certain you have many that fit that criteria already. He thought for a moment, sitting back against his heels.

You could say I’m a bit of an over worker. Should you need a task or desire fulfilled I will strive to make it happen, close to perfection if possible. I’m also quite skilled in being discreet. Should you ask for spy, look no further than to the wolf you see before you. He answered truthfully. His honesty one trait he’d not mention.

I could continue of course, but in honesty I’m a believer in actions speaking louder than words. He ended, bowing his head to her once more.

The stranger offered her a bow. While it might seem excessive to some, Aurelia was a stickler for formalities and appreciated the gesture for what it conveyed - he had manners. She would return the bow, albeit a little shallower; he was the outlier, after all.

She listened with razor-sharp focus as he listed off his personal skill set, assets she deemed more than adequate to join their ranks. The man was built strong, and with the world in turmoil around them, it would be unwise to turn away capable paws and fangs. It was anyone's guess how bad things may progress.

We could use more warriors to safeguard our claim, she said tacitly, although there was intrigue to her tone. But we place initiates where they feel best suited. Choose any path you wish, and we will work to hone your skills further.

She paused, observing his features.

Dawnbreak does not have set leadership; twice a year, all ranked members of the pack come together to vote for our next heads of Wisdom, Courage, and Power.

Aurelia slowly began to circle him, sizing him up more thoroughly. She would outline the various roles available to him as she did; explaining the Arbiters and Menders of the Wisdom branch; the Adventurers and Guardians of Courage; the Stalwarts and Huntsmen of Power.

You seem able and willing. That is good, she continued. You may enter the Vale under Dawnbreak's name. What role will you choose to serve the collective? We are all equals, here, and every act should be for the benefit of all. We take care of our own.

RE: Remember how we called it home - Jaegar - 2/22/2026

Jeagar’s ears swiveled as the small woman parted her lips to speak once more. She spoke with the power and confidence befitting a leader. It seemed Jaegar chose well for this pack. It appeared to be one built of strong discipline and trust, a place he could call home. He found there was some comfort in knowing he would be give the to choose where he’d be starting off within the rankings, within reason of course.

He offered a tilt of the head to her next few words. Finding it quite odd for a pack of wolves to not have a set leader ship. It was the principle of which he was raised in, one alpha and his chosen partner..how odd.

But the longer he thought on this new information, he could see how it would be. I think I get it.. He spoke aloud. No set leader means no needless bloodshed for a challenge, as well as the advantage of voting and careful strategic planning. You could see eachothers flaws, and cover for the other..very clever. The chocolate wolf was beginning to like this place more and more with each new thing he learned about it. Dawnbreak; a pack to be respected.

Shining blue eyes cautiously traced the she-wolf’s movements as she began to circle the larger male. He dared not show any signs of aggression or malicious intent; simply watching as she sized him up, swiveling ears listening as she listed the options he had before him. He could admit all of them seemed quite intriguing, alas he’d have to settle with one thing for now.

With your permission Lady Aurelia, I believe I’d like to settle for the Stalwarts position. It will be my owner to protect you, and the many inhabitants of these lands.
