;◊ - Elk Charm - 10/28/2025 elk is journeying to trade with NF but isn't there yet, aw <3
it was strange to have the seal hunter gone. there had been little ceremony at all. the man's scarred face did not scare her so close, not when he had made her laugh, kissed her to warmth. the rest was still unfamiliar to elk charm as to be surreal, thus worthy of guarding. suffice it to say that her shyness had given way to wonder. the seal hunter had carried both skill and kindness into her wetu and had left the sharadoii woman with a gift. it was still strange to lie alone, to have woken alone. to know that when she went out of doors, he would not be there. the pleasure had long since ebbed to a wistful loneliness, and it was why elk charm found herself on the mountainous path toward northfall. she carried a wealth of colorful feathers stuffed into the sea otter skin, and also certain herbs plucked carefully with stems intact from her own tiny garden. strips of caribou fur and edible black lichen completed her offering. if samo was still away, then she would wait. wait and prepare, and that meant lying in the pelts she could not hunt alone. but that place was still far. so she carried in carrying voice that she hoped would bring Wardruna further to her, with blessing. the rain began quietly. RE: ;◊ - Wardruna - 10/30/2025 I was gonna bring Journey but then I was like, 'naahhhh'. I want these two to build.
A path was made between the rolling mountains of the throne and the crimson forest of the Seiiki (though Wardruna had not heard word of them since they were Sem’ya) band. It was a slice of the Raven's Grove which wrapped around, dancing along the foothills of the mountains. A place which Elk Charm traveled. A place which Wardruna flocked too when hearing her calling song along the southern borders which were Northfall. Wise (though possibly without knowing) for the deep-ocean eyed woman to not enter such a forest deeply. Wardruna had only felt a haunting, forbidding presence among the many eyes above watching her. A dark labyrinth she felt was likely made by the trickster God his very self. With little words, the trader had said she would return and so she had. A loyalty of promise Wardruna had learned through much hardship and disappointment to greatly appreciate and admire. Hakacenyou!Wardruna called out the butchered name she had used from their first meeting. You have returned! The bellowing benemoth called as she trotted nearer. RE: ;◊ - Elk Charm - 10/31/2025 yesss <3
war-dru-na!exclaimed elk charm as the northfall woman came forth. her own tail waved, but there was a calm observation in the sharadoii woman. no longer militsik, it felt as if the world had changed in sheens for her. and the other was no exception. elk charm saw her with bright new eyes, grinning as her name was offered in accent. i bring new,she said with a flourish of small dark paw to the bundles now set down. something had happened. she felt it thrum in the air around herself and wardruna, put her head to one side as it was further felt. the other's shadow fell across her most satisfyingly, and in that protecting shadow elk charm began to lay out the herbs and the feathers. is good to see again. voice held much sincerity. RE: ;◊ - Wardruna - 11/7/2025 skill: curator I bring new. And a grin would touch the features of the stark black woman, whose eyes wore then deepness of blue Wardruna had not seen on another like this before. Wardruna thought of her father then briefly, whose own eyes were blue as pale as ice. Elk Charm laid out the bundles and began unwrapping them gently. Wardruna took this opportunity to sit before her as she did so with a patience for the woman's work. As well to see you.Wardruna kept her words simple. Their last conversation, their discussion was very limited. It seemed Hakacenyou had learned a little bit more common since then. Been well? She wanted to know more of the trader, but all in due time. RE: ;◊ - Elk Charm - 11/10/2025 yes. is well. only some in hills now,she sighed. with winter coming and no sharadoii upon the plains of which to speak, she was worried for their hunting capabilities. but she was too proud to ask for more help from northfall and besides -- she waited for samo to return. the wetu was kept warm and his sleeping-furs had been replaced once already. elk charm was ready to begin the life she thought she had glimpsed in the hunter's gaze. look.cardinal feathers, four of them large. her eyes danced. what you give, wardruna? RE: ;◊ - Wardruna - 11/20/2025 skill: curator They were well, but only some of them left, as it were. Wardruna knew little of their group. Well, nothing, really but knew exactly the struggle of a pack barely clinging on while the world turned itself upside-down on them. Wardruna shook out her coat as the gentle rain continued on. Her eyes moving where directed. Seeing the feathers here reminded her of their first meeting. How Wardruna had traded in order to have a vibrant red feather of Elk's for Wardruna's proposal gifts to Sheauga. Thoughts which brought eyes to glossen. Mate. Gone. She spoke the only words that she might hope Elk Charm would understand as she passed her paw gently over the cardinal feathers. Red, sacred of the caribou people. She loves feathers. Wardruna would fill her entire den with red feathers if it meant Sheauga finding a way back to her. There is a moment of lingering until Wardruna shakes her head to bring herself back into the present. Wait.Wardruna would lift from her sit, trotting back a ways to retrieve the bundle she had been carrying before dropping it to announce herself to the trader. She could do with a moment to bat the tears from her eyes. RE: ;◊ - Elk Charm - 11/22/2025 her mate was gone. it explained wardruna's mien, and her heart went at once to the woman. she almost lifted her paw, but the northfall hunter was turning. elk charm waited helplessly until the other returned, brightening somewhat at the bundle. but she had seen the sheen in wardruna's eyes, and knew this for what it was. grief. the sharadoii woman had never possessed any sort of great love; she had not understood yet herself. but from songs, from lore, from celebrations -- yes. she comprehended something of love and its violent pain. when wardruna returned, elk charm did not reach for the bundle, thinking it impolite. for the feathers, what do you have? her eyes danced encouragingly; her words moved them beyond the harsh moment into the warmth of their friendly trade. but -- also -- gaze said speak. i will listen. this beyond both their languages, a silent gift offered not in barter but in companionship. RE: ;◊ - Wardruna - 11/27/2025 skill: curator An old, tattered gray and brown skin of a ram is settled onto the ground, just in front of the skin which Elk Charm had laid out with her things. The traders gaze is welcoming and understanding, for which Wardruna offers a genuine smile though is happy to continue their words of trade. Wardruna sits once more, using nose and paw to unfold the pelt to recieve a collection of jumbled items from within - the ending piece of a ram's horn, about 3 inches worth for a nice chew toy, a chunk of elk meat dried and seasoned with ocean salt and sage by Journey, a few smooth black stones from their coast line along with some dried arctic lupine that Wardruna just thought was pretty (she had a thing for purple) but really knew no herbal knowledge of. Ahhh...Wardruna pushes the lupine and ram horn forward. This?Wardruna struggled to decide what exactly made for a fair trade and her inexperience showed! RE: ;◊ - Elk Charm - 12/7/2025 elk charm was interested by the skin. did northfall not cure their pelts? or -- elk charm thought sadly, or perhaps that had been the work of her wife. surreptitiously she studied the mountainwolf from the corner of her eye. how long had the sorrow been there? surely, many things changed. too -- too much!she protested, a little laugh lightening the atmosphere. but her gaze had approved of the deep hue, of the ram-horn's gloss. the stones too, gleamed to intrigue, and the necessity of food with the added pleasure of seasoning. she wanted it all, but did not have enough. slowly elk charm slid the horn back to wardruna, then the feathers. i keep, yes. for that. this.a trade of red for purple. she liked the colors together and hoped, suddenly, that her companion's spirits might rise even a little. RE: ;◊ - Wardruna - 12/19/2025 skill: curator The laughter of the trader contagious, Wardruna chuckling to follow with a shake of her head. Ah, oops!Wardruna was happy for the woman's honesty and the way in which she taught the norse-wolf the works of trade. After all, if she were now to be Queen of Northfall, she would need to uphold the ways in which her father had meant it to be. A place for people to come to learn to fight for themselves, a place to come for trade and enjoy festivity of feast and tournament. Open, communal, worldly upon their icy domain. Purple flowers for red feathers. Wardruna tucked the feathers under her footing, to add them to her personal den in collection. Now Wardruna looks to the rest, some fuzzy, mossy bundle that looked like the stuff on the trees and rocks around her home in the tundra, but black, which was different to her. Then there was carefully plucked herbs with stem and root which could be cultivated, yet she personally did not know what they were. Sheauga might have, Harper definitely and a sister long gone too. Last, the strips of soft brown and white caribou fur which Wardruna touched gently with paw pads to get the feel of. This she knew, but also knew the herbs held great value. This.Touching the caribou fur. And this.Pointing to the herbs with her toes. She would then push each of the three black stones across the ground. Then lifted the hunk of meat and set it on top of one of the rocks. For these? |
