Cotton candy skies Sweet as apple pie - Osiris - 11/8/2025 Osiris was a crafty, thoughtful beast, but where he thrived with imagination he often cursed the fact that his clawed toes were not deft enough to carry out the more delicate tasks he envisioned. That had never dampened his wish to give the Amiirad gifts and baubles and trinkets to be amused by nonetheless, and he prided himself in mysteriously procuring such oddities that he could not, obviously, make himself. It was not easy as a four foot, roughly 500 pound feline to befriend the creatures with thumbs, but by the light of Ra, he managed! It took patience, bribery, and the luck of finding an especially brave critter, but Osiris had all that in spades, and was a determined being ready to meet his goals by any means necessary. Racoons, he thus learned, were a bit more brave than the monkeys he'd known, and they didn't mind being up all night either. One was happy to help with the promise of a full belly, and while it worked, Osiris caught so many damn fish the beast was probably still trying to take it all back to its den.
Osiris had collected so many wisteria, carefully, so that they remained in their long strands of woody vines, that he might've been able to make a nest of them for himself. The helpful racoon ended up running off to find two others for more help, for which Osiris also had to fish. Then, assisting with the lifting and moving and not much more, he watched as they braided a sort of macramé cape with some seashells he found that'd had holes in them. He was pleased with the purple covering, and though it would wilt and fall apart before terribly long, he hoped Neferseba enjoyed it for as long as it lasted. He'd rolled it up oh-so-gently, thanked the raccoons with a branch of berries he'd managed to find, and set it aside somewhere safe for the next day. The rattle of the shell pieces was satisfying as he picked it up again in the morning and carried it, sitting outside the den waiting for Satiset to emerge with the purple bundle held gently between his massive, grinning jaws. RE: Cotton candy skies Sweet as apple pie - Neferseba - 11/9/2025 the young Satiset was being groomed and fussed over by her dear handmaiden—for that day, they would be meeting with the people of that beautiful Nebets clan. she must look immaculate—mother and father had both determined that this would be her first diplomatic meeting, without their intervention! she was quiet and compliant as teeth combed through her fur with meticulous precision—pink berries would rouge her cheeks, some, and allow her to smell even sweeter. she had lay, the evening prior, in warm waters decorated in sweet things, her furs massaged with flowers after she had soaked and while she had dried! she was groomed to gleaming, she felt. an ear twitched as the sound of her darling Osiris approaching drowned out the rest of the buzz beyond her rooms, where her people also prepared gifts for the foreigners they would visit. fellahin plated things upon large leaves found elsewhere in practice, and Neferseba knew others were preparing theatric acts that they might perform. made ready, Neferseba emerged and saw her feline companion with… what have you brought me this day?she could not yet tell! but she regarded her companion with ample love and adoration without having yet even receiving it! she was the first in her family to hold so many companions that were not her own species—to any but for her mother and father, and even brothers, that might seem strange. but always had the young girl been fascinated by wild things different than herself—she learned to speak different dialects, chirping with the birds and chittering with the earthier critters! why, upon learning of lions, she had learned of chuffing—immediately upon first seeing Osiris, did she try to do such a thing herself! (she was not so great at it then—but she prided herself upon her consistent improvements—the girl made a good mimic!) she moved to bump up against him, as lions would, though earned a panicked verbal, “your coat!” from the one that had groomed her. she peered sheepishly back inside, promising we will fix it,in an apologetic voice. yes, she must remember herself and also this day—the little princess turned back to her Osiris with a lifted head and a warm smile. she could not regret the true affection she had showed him, after all! RE: Cotton candy skies Sweet as apple pie - Osiris - 12/9/2025 One of the (many) things that so brought his reverence for the young princess was the zest for life and love of everything under the sun she held dear to her heart. Watching her socially mirror those in her service and learn what made them different from her was endearing, and with no other lions present in his life it was a boon to the lonely feline.
She pranced so readily to meet him, already knowing his custom; this wasn't for the meeting or impressing anyone else, just something he thought Nefer might enjoy. If it just so happened to look nice against the creams of her pelt and offer more of a flowery scent, well, what a happy accident. He returned her chuff joyously, and when she moved to rub against him, he rumbled a throaty sound akin to a purr. His icy gaze flicked to the scolding voice, pupils narrowing and a frown creasing his features. The princess beat him to a response, but he would puff up indignantly and place the robe before her paws. As if I would allow her to go anywhere looking anything but her best,he admonished right back. He would fix it. As if to rub it in, he placed his chin atop her head in return greeting before she stepped away. He used one massive paw to motion to the gift, inviting her to unroll the accessory herself. It shan't outlast time,he hummed, But I believe the colors will look nice against your coat, and the shells make a lovely sound when they clink together. That last part he'd figured out from the walk here! Another happy accident. |
