Lovett was a little suspicious. The weird dreams he'd been having lately were enough to ignore; it was stormy when he arrived, and continued to be as the dreams hit. However, this one he couldn't entirely ignore. The strange wolf, what he'd said, and when Lovett had woken the world was just normal? No fissures, no snow, just bright and sunny? The Fleur had never been a god-fearing man, but he wasn't sure what to think.

He'd push it down and make his mind up later. Clearly these lands were stranger than he'd thought.

For now, he focused on searching for herbs like a good little doctor. Surprisingly, there were many, as if he'd slept through the early weeks of spring. It was truly as if the earth had leapt forward in time, herb gardens lush and ripe for the taking. He would have to cultivate his own patch, perhaps in a cave so it would be protected from some of the frost... though every plant needed sun to grow. It was something else to think about, but he knew he had time. Surely the seasons weren't that different here, right?

Now that noon had hit, Lovett was merely exploring. After getting used to the mountain covered in snow, usually too cold to get his bearings, he relished in the chance to soak in the rays, comfortable enough to memorise the layout of his current home. The scents were fresh, the air was warm... truly, he didn't realise how much he missed spring. Plus, the mountain didn't seem so harsh, now. He knew it would be warmer further down the peaks, but he wasn't interested in exploring further down, not when Briar's fresh scent was tickling his nose.

Immediately, he turned towards her, the wind leading him to her obediently. She was atop a ridge, leaving her scent there. Lovett was pleased to see her bright frame, stark against the bright blue and greens of spring. Though, something seemed... off. As if winter had stolen something from her.

Briar said nothing, merely towered above him with a terrible grin as he approached. It was enough to make him flush, pleased to see her in all her glory. The more he looked, though, the more strange she looked, until it hit him. She didn't have a shadow! How odd... some sort of witchcraft?

It didn't matter, at the end of the day. She was still here, blazing bright, Thorn cawing above her. She truly was never without that bird. It was endearing in a way, he supposed. Lovett couldn't think of anything worse than being followed around by something so loud, but she seemed to enjoy his company nonetheless.

Tipping her head back, she howled, and he was unable to stop himself from joining her once he reached a comfortable closeness, allowing their voices to meld and soar higher, louder, stamping their claim atop the mountain. His heart clenched briefly; there was something primal about howling in a duet, something he quite enjoyed.
