The raging winds had finally died down, which meant Vi and Mahina were on the move. Guilt and shame was still making Vi’s stomach flip and knot uncomfortably from not being able to help La Luna hunt earlier. Even if she said it was fine, Vi couldn’t help the feeling of helplessness that threatened to choke her.
If she was ever going to hope to be a Valkyrja someday she was going to have to get much stronger. She looked out at the mountains as they walked, watching the sun slowly ascend and bringing some warmth with it. Hoping maybe La Luna had indeed heard her Capitan through the wailing wind. Vi still felt bad for being the thing that kept La Luna from going when she had heard the sound. But grateful that she had stayed with her. She would owe her and the moon her life.
Vi watched her as they walked- she seemed to move through the snow so naturally, while Vi looked like a pup just learning to walk. Awkwardly stumbling through the white powder. Suddenly Mahina stopped, seeing something Vi couldn’t, but her ears perked up as she began looking around. Her muscles involuntarily tensed, her hair raised down her spine, and her heart began beating against her chest as she began realizing if there was a threat, what could she do?
¿Qué es?
(What is it?) What do you see?
