Law of the Land

Freya has placed a Law of the Land upon Storm's Reach. It is widely known across all who enter their Realm that there are animals that are considered Sacred and thus, cannot be harmed or killed without one of the few exclusion. The Clan are unable to hunt or needlessly kill: horses, boars, lynx and falcons. To harm any of these animals aside from culling due to over population is considered a crime and the sinner is at mercy of Freya's judgement.

Information

Born of gods and magic, Psychí Deméni is led by the Goddess Freya. Since creation, she was infused with strange and unique magic that meant whenever she died, she was reincarnated to a new life cycle. The magic forged bonds with souls that she loved and wanted with her forever and they are called soulbounds. Through each of her lives, mortal and magical, human and animal, they have mostly all rejoined her. All are welcome, so long as your ideals are similar and you are loyal to the death.

This is her very own Mortal Realm Fólkvangr, reimagined and brought to life with this New Age. Those who join are welcomed in by Freya, chosen to walk alongside her and into the New Age. Whether you are a fallen warrior, medic, tender-hearted or of a culture entirely different, so long as your ideals align – you have a home within the Clan.

Rank Information

Ranks within the Clan are considered "branches", and they all fall under one of Freya's associations, one of the things she is a symbol of. To read about the ranks within the Clan and which characters are in those ranks, click on each Branch and it will expand with information.

—̳͟͞͞💗 Love BranchBraveheart—
Leader of the Love Branch. Those that fall within the Love Branch are their responsibility and they are expected to live and breathe the ideals of the Love Branch. The mistakes of their Loves are held upon the Braveheart’s shoulders. Their failures and their success are not only tacked onto the Love in question, but they will remain on the Braveheart’s reputation.

They are in charge of the training of the Loves and are expected to make sure that all in the Branch remain at the top of their game. They are to ensure the safety of their Loves, for if the Loves are unable to do their Duty, the rest of the Clan suffer.

The Braveheart can also hold a seat on the Golden Circle, but this is not a given.

Lovebird —
The Lovebird’s are the matchmakers, the counsellors, the guides. They are who you look to if you need relationship advice and guidance. If you find yourself in need of a match but find that you are struggling to do this on your own, you may seek out a Lovebird to help you. The Lovebird requires the approval of the Braveheart and the Queen, but once given, they will seek to see you married with your best possible match.

They foster relationships amongst the Clan, platonic and romantic, and offer their support of the mind and heart. Lovebird’s desire happiness and encourage body positivity, and taking leaps of the heart. They are often tasked with the mental wellbeing of those of the War Branch, to ensure that they are taken care of. They can also be called Mind Healers.

Lovebird’s can be officiants of Weddings, if a couple does not ask the Queen to be their Officiant.

Warmheart —
These are the keepers of the young and the elderly. They prioritise the care and wellbeing of the young and the old, often acting as second parents or carers. Warmheart’s may act as whatever is needed of their charges, company, watchful eyes, story tellers, or carers. They help feed and groom the young and the elderly, and sometimes may help the Healer’s with the patients who might need long-term care.

When parents are away from the Clan, the Warmheart’s will resume responsibility for any children not of age.

Lilja, Ragnhildr

Unnamed Rank (any suggestions welcome!) —
These are the creatures who are the brains behind the festivities of the Clan. They plan and execute all festivals and parties, and they work alongside the Queen to ensure that they have all that they need should they host any Allies on their Island. They live and breathe the culture of the Clan, and they can go to the Queen about any celebrations that they think the Clan should hold.

A chosen x is responsible for making sure things such as Weddings and Name Day’s run smoothly.

Kindling —
The apprentices of the Love Branch. They do not need to know which path they want to go down immediately, and may dabble in all until they know. Once they know, they will be assigned to someone from the rank and they will act under them as an Apprentice.

⚔️ War BranchWarlord —
The Warlord sits at the top of the War Branch, and the entirety of the Branch is their responsibility. The Clan’s safety is paramount, and the Warlord must ensure that all battle plans remain constantly updated and most accurate. The Island must at all times remain under their care, the borders protected, and the people cared for. The Warlord must be skilled in all areas of War, strategy, offense and defense. It is the Warlord’s job to make sure that those in their Branch have the Island secure.

They are known to be thorough and dedicated.

Warlord’s and those of their Branch may often work closely with the Queen.

The Warlord is often referred to as Commander. They may also hold a seat in the Golden Circle if earned.

Queensguard —
This rank sits within the War Branch but operates, technically, of its own accord. They work with the rest of the War Branch and may work closely with the Warlord, but ultimately, they are mostly their own entity. The Queensguard is headed up by the Captain of the Queensguard. The Captain reports directly to the Queen, who by her own right, is considered the Commander-in-Chief of the Queensguard. The Queensguard cannot necessarily make decisions regarding the Queen without her consent, but they can heavily encourage them.

They are tasked with the safety of the Queen. They lay their lives on the line so that she may live, but equally, they are always at her side should she go into Battle. It is them and the Warlord who she trusts the most at her side. The Queensguard are tasked with weeding out any potential threats to the Monarchy. The Captain of the Guard may operate his own missions with them.

Captain of the Queensguard: Raihn

Warden —
As a Warden, the main priority is the wellbeing of the people. Skilled at internal affairs, a Warden is trusted to maintain any complaints of the people and bring them to the Queen. Wardens, though physically capable, are often led more with their brain. They work with the Warlord on Battle Plans and protection strategies.

Warden’s can be trusted to give out punishments on behalf of the Queen, for when the Queen cannot. They can act on the behalf of the Queen, when told. Warden’s keep an eye on any prisoners, and they are responsible for any punishments of Clan members who are out of line. Should there be any creatures who the Queen doubts, who’s faith is in question or aren’t seen as entirely devoted to the Clan, the Warden’s are tasked with observing them, learning them, and feeding back to the Warlord, Queensguard and the Queen.

They guard any prisoners who are kept on the Island.

Valkyrie—
The quietest amongst the War Branch. This is not a rank that is necessarily advertised, but it is known only by the Queen, the Captain of the Guard and the Warlord. They operate in the shadows, their tasks confidential and known only by those the Queen wishes. They must take an oath of secrecy, and accept that should they ever betray their Rank, it is only the removal of your tongue or death that are the possible punishments.

The silent killers. The Valkyrie’s are assigned targets to dispose of, with no political backlash. They are stealthy, they are able to cover their tracks, and they must be able to wear any mask to ensure their mission is never found out. To the rest of the Clan, Valkyrie’s are known as “multitaskers”, who are reservists for any of the known ranks amongst the War Branch. Where numbers are needed, they will fill at any given time. They are also known to go undercover.

Gjalla

Crusader—
The hellions. Crusaders are the fighters of the Clan, the ones who make up the bulk of the main defense, and who will, at command, be on the defense or offense. They don’t shy away from battle, blood, or death, and they aim to kill. There are no survivors when facing off with the Crusaders. They will fight to the death, yours or theirs.

They respond to calls from any Watchman, and they heed the call of the Warlord and the Queen. They defend the Island, the people, and they march to War with their Queen. A Crusader will be assigned to someone leaving the Island for a mission, being their protection for the duration, until they return to the Island.

Týr, Sovereign

Watchman —
The eyes and the ears of the Clan. They are Scouts, they make sure the Island is proper scent-marked and the borders patrolled. They are the alarms of intruders and they are expected to make sure that intruders do not have an escape route, until someone else arrives. Watchmen are strong with strategy, and they know the Island better than anyone.

They must know all the tunnels and caves of the Island, and all escape routes to and from the Island. Watchmen can be tasked with mainland tasks, scouting the land nearby and allies, and are expected to report back any findings.

Watchmen know the best vantage points of the Island, they know how to watch and be unseen.

Loki

Guardian(s) of the Sea —
Any sea life that maintain as part of the PD family and remain the bodies in the water that can guard the Island from the depths. They are just as much part of the Clan as those that can step on the Mainland and are expected to be treated with the same respect.

Skyr

Shadow —
An apprentice. They may first start to learn all aspects of the War branch, until they choose their path and are assigned a mentor.

🌿 Fertility BranchChargehand—
The Chargehand leads the Fertility Branch. They oversee all those that fall within this Branch and are expected to keep the Queen up to date on the state of the Island. Any signs of rot or death of the Island must be noted by the Chargehand and reported to the Queen. They are expected to ensure the complete training of anyone in their Branch, any failure or success of their ranks are tied to them. They are there to support and grow their Ranks, and the health of the Island is their priority. The Chargehand is skilled in all areas of the Branch. They can hold a seat on the Golden Circle, if earned.

Farmer —
The gardeners of the Clan. They are in charge of making sure that the Healers have constant herb access, so they grow and maintain the herb supply. They must foster the gardens and cultivate them, and make sure the land is kept healthy and strong. Farmer’s are always on the lookout for more growth opportunities on the Island, and they are expected to have safety plans able to be executed for all Seasons. They tend to the Fauna of the Island, and ensure the Horses numbers remain steady.

Healer —
They are skilled in physical healing. For any injuries or illnesses, it is the Healers who are your primary caregivers. The health and strength of everyone in the Clan is their priority and they are always at hand for any type of Healing. They are also able to assist in nutrition, and offer advice on how best to keep yourself in shape with herbal remedies. They can also be sought out for assistance with fertility. Healers work closely with farmers and often have a farmer assigned to them specifically, should they have any specific herb requirements.

CedarF

Greenhorn —
An apprentice. They may first start to learn all aspects of the Fertility branch, until they choose their path and are assigned a mentor.

⚜️ Gold BranchArtisan —
The Head of the Branch. Artisan’s oversee all the ongoing operations of this Branch, and they are expected to be diplomatic. The Artisan is often shrewd and intelligent, being able to see opportunities and cultivate them. Often, they are used for Diplomatic needs as they are the master of their Trade. They are looked to to help lead the attractiveness of their services to their Allies.

The failings and success of their ranks remain with them. The Artisan may sit within the Golden Circle, if earned.

Merchant —
The traders of the Clan. They are smart, though perhaps sometimes, dangerously so. They excel in bartering, trading, and continuously noticing ways that they can offer services to their Allies or travellers. Merchant’s can be seen as greedy, as they always work for the better deal. They are, however, the ones that you can count on for goods and services. Their currency: Fur, Food, Herbs, you scratch my back - I scratch your back, and sometimes, bodies.

Merchant’s will work with the Madam/Master if a body service is required. Merchant’s come and go from the Island, keeping up with Trades. Sometimes, merchants may be called upon by the Queen for some… darker dealings.

Mercenary —
For Hire. These are the creatures who can be hired for services, these services currently have no boundaries but they will not be put into situations where it is more likely that they will die. The price must also be right and for this, merchants negotiate their prices but it is the Artisan that must fully sign off of the contract. Mercenary’s hold no particular political interest or issues, working solely to better the Clan. They favour the uncertain lifestyle, and how flexible each task or service may be. Mercenaries can often be hired to attend Allied Packs and help them with matters that they require.

Scavengers —
These are the opportunists. They are often scouring the land for treasures, whether this is crystals, wolves, creatures or anything else. Treasure is Treasure, and they may often work alone or in pairs. Scavengers see currency in forms of weaknesses, too, and may prey on your weakness to further themselves. These are the creatures who exploit those outside of the Clan but they are usually quite manipulative about it.

They often bring back kills to add to the caches. They can also be hunters, who ensure that the Island has plenty of food. They are often takers.

Scavengers may also prey on the unsuspecting, in converting them to their cause and bring them back to the Clan, to add to their numbers. They can often use underhanded tactics.

Mímir

Goldpaw —
The apprentices. They may at first choose to study all ranks within the Branch, but they must pick one specific route to excel in. Once chosen, they are given a mentor.

🍑 Sex BranchMadam / Master —
They oversee the Sex Branch. All in their care are their responsibility and given the somewhat sensitive nature of their work, the Madam must ensure the constant protection and welfare of their workers. They must ensure that all attend monthly sessions with the Healers and Mind Healers. The Madam is skilled in all aspects of the Branch and may remain active in other duties.

They are expected to set the standard, to make sure all beneath their teachings excel in their role. The Madam is expected to keep track of their workers and may work closely with the Warlord if any of their workers are to give services off of the Island.

The safety of their workers is their main priority, but they also schedule and maintain the services that they provide. They may sit within the Golden Circle, if earned.

Courtesan —
These creatures are often assigned to a specific creature within the Clan, to act as a sex worker, lover, or mistress to. They enjoy to make others feel good, act as a stress relief or perhaps a comfort when one feels lonely. Courtesan’s are proud of the work that they do, and they know their abilities. They excel at physical pleasure and can often be a welcome back from Battle, to those unattached. To be in this Rank, you must be dubbed pretty/handsome enough by the Queen but not be considered a threat.

Being a Courtesan can be dangerous, if one tries to challenge the beauty of the Queen. Though sometimes, the Queen may handpick Courtesan’s to be at her side.

Cupid
Siren —
These are Courtesan’s who have signed up to have additional tasks. They offer exclusive work to the Queen, wherein they can go undercover specifically to seduce someone, whether this is short-term or long-term to give way to a kill from a Valkyrie. Sometimes, they may go undercover for long periods of time, seducing someone of body and mind and clouding them with lust. They know how to work their attractiveness. They can often be used as distractions, for darker dealings or underhanded acts.

Mermaid

Paramour —
The apprentices. Whilst one cannot partake in any physical acts until they are of age, they may still learn the theory, or how to believe in their attractiveness. They are often given etiquette lessons, how best to carry themselves and how to get into the mindset. Only once they are of age may they start to have physical lessons in pleasure, so that they can learn how best to use their body and attend to someone elses body.

🔮 Seiðr BranchSoothsayer—
The overseer. This is the creature who is the closest to the Queen’s original life, and is considered the strongest of the Branch. They have skilled experience in all aspects of the Branch, and are tasked with the protection and secrecy of the Branch. The Soothsayer and their Ranks are often asked by the Queen for Counsel and communication to the Other World.

Though the Soothsayer sits at the top of this Branch, they report directly to the Queen herself. As the Queen herself was of this magic, it is considered her branch. The Soothsayer is her most trusted, and together, they hold plenty of secrets. They may sit in the Golden Circle, more often than not.

Prophet —
These are the creatures who specialise in prophecies and dabble with future-sight. They are “believed” to have the ability to see into the future, though this is not seen as straight forward or clear, as they are not in the proper magical bodies in this world. It is believed that they still harness some form of this power, and thus, can have these abilities.

Prophet’s may have the ability of God-Talking.

Skathi

Witch / Sorcerer —
These creatures do not have the ability to foresee, but they do specialise in enchantments and Spirit-Walking. They can be known to create concoctions, and spells - of which are used by the Queen. They are not necessarily the most open of creatures, and may conduct enchantments that are not black and white. Witches tend to be in the grey.

Acolyte —
The apprentices. These are the creatures who seem to have shown a knack for one of the abilities of the branch, and they are cultivated and taught how to master their abilities.

The Seiðr are heavily protected by the Queen. Often, she will have the Warlord assign a Crusader to the protection of a Seiðr. They are closest to the Queen and are not allowed to travel alone. They are vital to the Queen and cannot be in enemy hands
