Checking in on everyone, that is.
Dawnbreak had gradually settled back into something of its former routine in the wake of Genghis' death, albeit with a more somber air than before. Figures moved listlessly in the shadows; checking borders, replenishing the cache, mending wounds in an almost mechanical fashion - it was as if everyone wore a strained smile at best. Every time the pack seemed to find its footing at last, another tragedy rocked their world.
Particularly that of the Shakti-Vaes family.
Aurelia was finishing up her rounds for the evening, ensuring everyone was well and accounted for. This 'head count' was becoming quite important to her, a sense of panic at the pit of her stomach clawing desperately at the walls over the thought of losing someone else - and losing them so needlessly, so pointlessly.
What happened to Genghis could have been avoided.
A thin, golden figure huddled in the dim light ahead.
Golde -her name was apt,
Hello.
Aurelia realized she hadn't formulated anything else to say beyond a greeting.
I just... wanted to...she hesitated, suddenly awkward.
See how you were.
