Where had he been? In the wake of slipping time Rinon tucked himself away, threw himself into his study. As wolves came and went, individuals passing on to some event that took place in the North; Rinon stayed. He stayed and he learned.
He had climbed one of the attainable points of the Respites jagged mountains, found himself a home among the cliffside and remained isolated from the pack for a window of time he'd since lost track of. The young man obsessed and he watched, resting only when exhaustion forced his body into slumber during the peak of the day and rising again before the sun set.
As thus he worked on little sleep, ate only when necessary and stared up at the shifting stars for hours on end. He didn't even know that his brother was gone.
Tonight would be no different. Rinon had drawn himself from the confines of the rock structure, perched himself on the same ledge and let his crimson eyes cast skyward. He'd learned much since his time up here, and was busy mapping and memorizing the constellations that came and went, the animals they were shaped after and tracking which ones showed up and when and trying to detect a meaning from them. Which he earned when he did get forced into sleep and his rest came alive with memories masked as dreams that he could take only as fact.
