I can add a path on the map if needed!

He hadn't really left his den much recently other than the pack meeting and to trail behind Ama a bit. Today he felt a pull towards... Somewhere... A tug at his breast, and he decided with the bright sunny weather that echoed through the sky that today was probably a good day to get out and do... Something...

So with that he nudged his Skully goodbye with a small smile and a yip before he headed out towards whatever was yanking on his chest. He thought that it might be important, he hadn't ever felt anything like this before, it was like an anxious cold feeling in his heart and it caused his to trot his way down and down the mountain he currently called home.

The boy passed a beautiful cherry blossom tree, taking a moment to admire the beauty of it. The boy smiled as he stood beneath it, stood at the base with paws on the roots that poked out, taking a deep breath and inhaling the light scent with closed eyes... Then he noticed something... Similar in the air, something he knew, something... Dangerous...

His eyes flung open as he bit his lip with nervousness, the pull was dragging his path along the ground towards the waters that raged down and away from the mountain. Furrowing his eyebrows the Russian blue boy padded to the edges and took a deep breath, remembering the scent of poisons he knew and didn't. It was familiar and yet not... He knew the scent of poison but not this poison...

He could feel the sun beating down warmly on his spine but chose to ignore the warmth that tried to chase away that anxious bucket of water he was feeling. Eyes narrowed as he let out a whimper, smelling the waters that threatened his senses and yet still drew him to its lapping waves...

Waves that once were a crystalline blue, a color that mirrored the sky now mirrored something similar to his own optics, dancing indigo children along the surface of the bouncing liquid before him. Bringing his nose to the edge of the discolored liquid he sniffed at it and tilted his head to the left as he brought a paw out to touch the surface of the strange rushing waves.

Burning suddenly raced through his veins like ice as he yelped and hopped backwards a few times, shaking his paw like mad to try and free it of the burning poison that singed his paw pad. The bottom had been burned by the poisoned liquid that was once clear and had held his previous home. He looked at it with squinting his eyes and he whimpered, sounds that pitched and fell through the empty area near the cherry blossom

Rune Discovery: 「 Pending Success! 」
There’s a gravitational pull you suddenly begin to feel, as if the wind is shifting and swaying your body in a specific direction. Was it all in your head, nothing more than an over active imagination? Or, maybe, this was what you’ve been searching for. That irresistible lure, an invisible rope tied to you and was trying to reel you in with all the strength it had. Whatever was summoning you wanted to be found.

It was from the south, all you would have to do is follow the poisoned river and you are certain you can find it. You have to find it. Internally, there is an unexpected struggle you find yourself facing. Instincts told you to flee, it wasn’t safe here. But what of the other two desires? An unnatural yearn to drink the sweet smelling waters, even as you knew what it truly was. Has it always smelled so delicious? But among these two struggles is whatever was demanding you find it. You have to pick. You must. Will you fall victim to the alluring rapids? Will you flee for the sake of your life? Will you pursue what is calling out to you?

While your mind is tangled in knots, the river grows louder and almost aggressive in nature. What was happening? The water began to bubble next, its color darkening and beginning to resemble a swamp’s slimy muck. Some type of creature was beginning to crawl from the depths…

Something pulled at him like a choke-chain as he stood and stared towards the direction of the yanking feeling at his gut. The waters smelled so sweet but the thought of the burning feeling on his paw falling into his stomach was enough to push him away and the boy limped his way along the river as he headed south.

His mind was twisted with so many thoughts of the river and its poisonous, but oh so delicious, currents and everything involved with the pulling he saw a burbling beneath the surface of the burning liquid...

The water darkened and began to bubble aggressively, the river screamed as he flattened his ears and placed his paws over them to try and suppress the white noise that deafened him.

He sat on his rump, paws to his ears, staring at the slimy murk that seemed to be vomiting up some sort of creature...

What...

...The...

... Fuck...????

Plague Effect: 「 Poisoned Water 」
As if born from the bowels of hell, a creature resembling a giant wolf rises out of the poisoned depths. The water is thick and coagulated like slime, slowly dripping from the creature's form. The sludge is replaced by a rich, dark colored fur that resembles the shade of charred tree bark. The ominous sound of heavy splashes is replaced by the rattling of cold, metal chains. Each little sound is amplified as you watch this beast place a single paw on the shoreline, a dense dark mist lingering around his legs.

Yellowed teeth are revealed as he grins towards you, pupil-less, silver eyes focused on your smaller form with a sharp intensity. Lo tan ruth ut furk? his voice may sound playful but your instincts can sense his malice.

Reach it first…? Reach wha—

A radiation of warmth can be sensed in the direction you felt pulled previously. It’s calling for you, seeking your help. You are unsure why, but you feel like reaching the summoning rune will protect you against whatever this monster is.

You can’t let him beat you there. Run.

With a snarl, the rattle of chains grows as the beast begins to charge forward, jaws wide and searching for purchase.

Run.

Suddenly a monster emerged from the depths of the purple poison. Burbling and bubbling the thing came from the "waters" covered in what looked like viscous slime, dripping off like acid and reveling a dark wolf underneath. A rattling replaced everything the river was doing and Glitch instantly felt cold and frozen, fear and anxiety overtook him and he couldn't move, his teeth chattered and clicked together as he shuddered with fear.

Silver saucers stared at him with yellowed fangs bearing a smile that shook him to the core, it riveled anything the scientists had ever thrown at him, his voice dripped with malice and playful dangers as he spoke in an unknown language that forced his fur to stand on end and tingle.

In the direction he felt the pull he felt warmth radiating towards his chilly core. He felt like whatever was pulling his could protect him, so the boy started slowly scootching his way towards the feeling way, never taking his eyes off the demon wolf.

You can’t let him beat you there. Run. Echoed in his brain and he hopped to his toes, whipping his head around as if searching for the voice as if his life depended on it, then he focused back on the demon chain thing...

Before he could see the snapping jowls of the beast he had turned to run...

And he ran...

The boy ran as if his life depended on it, which it seemed too, and he took off in the direction of the warmth. Not daring to turn his head and look behind him he ran faster than he ever had before in his life, faster than he had from the scientists...

His chest burned, it ached and pulled as he panted, his tongue lolling as he continued to race towards the radiating heat of the unknown.

Rune Discovery: 「 Success! 」

You can hear it behind you. Heavy, gurgling breaths getting closer and closer, the beast labored but unrelenting in its pursuit, and in your panicked state your paw catches on the edge of a stone and you stumble for several strides.

Something wet suddenly brushes against the end of your tail, leaving behind a thick, slimy residue that feels as if it's eating its way down to your skin - except that it is - you stifle a scream as you realize the small patch of fur is now gone, fully exposed to the air, and it burns as the slime bubbles painfully against your skin.

Harsh, barking laughter sounds from behind, far too close for comfort. Is the monster toying with you?

Whether fueled by pain or fear or both, you sprint forward with renewed vigor and feel yourself flying over the rocky shoreline as the pull grows stronger with each leap. The sound of rattling chains follows closely, and your throat is on fire and the end of your tail continues to burn but the pull is guiding you, leading you -

And there it is.

With the last of your strength, you lunge forward and fall to the ground just as the edge of your paw grazes against smooth stone. A faint humming fills the air as the indecipherable etching across its surface glows a deep blue, and you remember the beast behind you; you turn your head to look...

But nothing was there.

Confused, your gaze drifts toward the ground where you can see a trail of thick slime leading back into the river.

You shudder. If only the lightest touch ate through fur and skin, you can't imagine what full contact or a fight with the creature might look like. Your tail stings in response; a small wound weeps where the poison had eaten through flesh, but it shouldn't spread any further - a healing poultice would be wise if you can find a medicine-wolf.

Your attention returns to the rune.

Yia ran wen, comes a voice from the back of your mind, faint but full of relief. That was a plague-beast; our curse made into festering flesh. All I can tell you is to go far from them should you see another.

The voice uttered a soft sigh.

Rest now. The rune has been found, and you are safe this day.

You feel the presence retreat, and you are left alone.

He ran and he ran like hell. His chest burned, his sides heaved, then suddenly his paw burned and he fell...

Glitch stumbled over himself and rolled head over tail to slam stomach first onto the ground. There was a brush of something slimy, then his tail... it was on fire!

Yelping the boy screamed and screamed, his pitches rising and rising and never falling as the pain burned him from what felt the outside inward. His fur was gone and his skin was exposed... This hurt just as much as the time they poured that liquid all over him and he burned and burbled to death... He turned into nothing more than a liquidy puddle...

Screaming still Glitch takes his paws and slams them on the exposed skin, slapping at it as if trying to put out a fire, there was laughter behind him... Loud and barking... He felt like it was right behind him, like the monster was looming...

He hopped to his feet and suddenly, with all the panic he felt, he launched himself forward. He flung himself through that rocky shoreline that housed that poisonous purple liquid, he could hear rattling and clanking of chains as he shuddered and kept running...

He leapt through the air, flinging his body in a soaring motion, flying as far as he could, there was a soft humming that rose to his ears, a flick of his audits and then... He fell once more...

Flat on his stomach with a gasping Oof... as he tried to draw a ragged breath, but thats when he noticed the soft cool stone against his paw... He looked at the blue glowing stone when he remembered the monster...

Glitch whipped his head around to stare at... Nothing... And he blinked, confused as his chest tried to catch his breath. He rose an eyebrow as he noticed the trail of thick slime leading back into the river... Letting out a puff of exasperated air he breathed in once more and shook himself out as he remembered the burning pain the monster had caused...

Looking down at his exposed skin the boy whimpered as he noted he needed a medic before returning his attention back to the rune...

He felt a slither in his brain, soft words that seemed to caress his grey matter as they floated into one ear and suddenly disappeared out the other. There was a sigh, a reassuring rest now because of the rune and that he was safe...

He sighed as he closed his eyes and placed his chin upon the rune. The boy setteled into the ground as he felt safety and warmth flood over him, leaving the throbbing ache of his tail to fade away into the vibrations of the Rune.
