What Koyuki didn't expect was for those effects to entail being surrounded by small critters... all with strange shapes, and colors—each time she leapt forward to catch one, it would evade her by a hair. Frustration shifted to something more jaded. This stupid game of cat and mouse; she would not indulge in it. Instead, she curled up against the meadow's beautiful wildflowers, twitching her ear against bees as they whizzed past her.
The earth was undulating—how amusing. Like the flank of a massive animal, rising and falling, breathing. Perhaps this is what folks meant when they said they 'saw pink elephants'. No, there were no elephants—only the chipmunks were pink.
Koyuki was still against the grass, wandering to herself what to do. She didn't like to be idle; that's when her mind could wander. The woman thought back to the recent strange mishaps around the north. The runes.
With legs as wobbly as a newborn fawn's, she stood. Meandering down the hill towards the southern border of their lands, with hefty trees lined with lush foliage. There, her nose snuffled against the ground. Unstable, prodding about with haste. This was better than nothing. Maybe something interesting could happen.
Something a bit more interesting then odd colored rodents, at least.
