She'd not slept, instead taking the time to process the vision that the voice had delivered to her. She'd decided upon the Sunning-Rocks of Rhys as the next place to search — if only she knew exactly what it was she was looking for. The ambiguity of it all was aggravating, even for an enigmatic creature such as herself. Turns out that Amaranth did not like being bested for the title of 'Most Eerie'.

The air still smelled of poison, an ugly, dark haze still hovering over the cursed lands of the Respite despite the rising morning sun. It was not as warm as it should have been for this time of year, and a sickness in the atmosphere turned her stomach foul.

Amaranth blinked, peeking over her shoulder to see if the others were with her. But she would only distract her attention from her task for a few moments before moving forward. The wraith would lope onward, trading lightly over the rocks that were tainted with slick, morning dew. She kept her eyes trained on everything ... seeking a prize that she knew not the form of. And she could only hope that the voice would return to her to give her more guidance.

Glitch followed Ama, ever obedient, and decided that he too would search for... Whatever it was they were searching for... Somehow...

The boy padded up next to the larger golden woman and looked up at her questioningly, as if searching for an answer in her face. His eyes scanning her visage back and forth while trying to find the words to speak. Though there seemed to be none when he tried, his mouth opening and closing with a soft click as his teeth came together.

He decided to stay silent and peered over to see if Fleetwood would come with them as well... Though he hoped the message of what they were searching for would become much more clear. Indigo eyes shifted back to the terrain in front of him in hopes that he wouldn't stumble... He feared now was not the time...

Amaranth wasn't the only one who hadn't slept.

Trailing after her like a ragged ghost, Valeska was every bit the picture of exhaustion. The water was poison, the gods were angry, and she'd either hallucinated or been visited by some messenger from another world in her sleep - when she used to sleep. How long had it been? The half-moons under her eyes could just as easily have been mistaken for bags at this point. As much as her body craved rest, she forced herself onward, trying to keep her focus on Amaranth and the little dark shadow that followed.

Glitch, was his name? Her mind was a mess of foggy details, and she struggled to recall much information beyond my throat really, really hurts.

Hnnnaaack - Valeska tried to speak. She cleared her throat - winced - then rallied again. ... I am afraid.

The words were almost plaintive, childlike as they came out.

What if - hnnnkk - we do not succeed?

Well, they already had a pretty good idea of what would happen if the Dream Wolf hadn't just been a terrible figment of her imagination. The question was meant to be redundant.

... What are we looking for? What - does it have a shape? A color?

She was trying to fill the silence; it made her uncomfortable.

Valeska hung her head uselessly.

Rune Discovery : 「 Partial failure x2; ENHANCED clue unlocked for double increased chance of success in the next thread this character posts. 」

Lond, lond, lond, the voice would reprimand, surging from the silence of the soft morning, and flooding your mind.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, you would hear, the solemn voice echoing with sternness in your head.

It made you feel ... bad. And perhaps, as you frown, you hear more. Eip tolk yia lire ali vina, kien yia af an liken. You hear it, and it nudges you. You are close, so close to what you seek. You can feel it, the way it pulls you. It draws you to a familiar place, so close to where you are ... and yet ... I told you where to go, but you do not listen.

Will you listen this time?

The wind pushes you toward the North.

It shoves you in the direction that you need to go.

Do you ... listen ... this time?
