Her ears buzzed with chatter, there was laughter everywhere, joy, friends, family! Such warmth filled her chest and released with giggles from her muzzle, she’d never really experienced a party like this before, yes there was that one a few months prior though she didn’t really spend much time at the party aspects of it. But this? This was likely much better!! She greeted any passers with enthusiastic ‘Hello!’s, a wagging tail, and wide eyes.

It looked as if all the flowers were out specially for today, so many she could stuff her secret collection with them! Though as she walked around admiring the hard work of her mother and others, she found herself staring at a creature.. pale and small it was, with stripes and pointy cheeks! It wasn’t quite a rabbit or a groundhog, and with her curiosity driving her head strong, she asked flat out ‘What are you?’

Apparently he was a raccoon! And his name was Bjarki, he was a friendly creature, and he was also making flower crowns which she’d loudly protested her want to learn. She’d make crowns for everyone! Even if her paws fell off!

With that the young pup began taking in such dire information for her project. She failed once, twice… a third and a fourth.. and finally on her fifth try she made it perfectly! Or well perfect enough in her standards, it was messy with loose grassy bits on all sides, but she liked it that way! Gave it a mystical look she couldn’t quite put her paw on.

Moreover, as she had depleted her pile of long grass and flowers, it was now her job to go and collect more! She would collect only the prettiest of flowers for her crowns, finding colors that matched their owners. Lugh of course needed reds and oranges, Aisling pink and white, Nausicaa red and white, Kyros red and maybe some white too..? Eidola purple and white! Nanna pure white with maybe some blue, papa red, and mama.. well mama would get all the colors together, but mainly pink! Yes, mama would have the biggest crown! She was the prettiest in her collection after all! (Not that she had any favorites.. though there was clearly a tier in her mind) Everyone else would have crowns too, simply not as personal as the rest, that seemed fair to her!

As a result of so many crowns needing to be made, this would certainly take a lot of time and maybe some patience too, and she was okay with that! It might be hard, but Illithya always found a way for things she wanted, and that’s exactly what she’d do!

Foxglove had never been so happy to see the changing of the seasons. Often he actually begrudged the march forward of time. It was always a memory of what he had lost. It was almost like having salt poured into the wounds of how long he had been away from his family and what it meant. Although Hemlock was more reserved, the steady presence of Lotte in her wife's life reminded her how to feel and how to show it. Foxglove had never had an issue with sharing his emotional responses. He was the first one to cheer someone on and share the positivities, and the first to offer his shoulder to prop up someone in their time of need. Sorrows or joy, Foxglove would feel it - and every emotion in between. Which meant that he felt the ache of losing his family for each member. Both his parents, each of his siblings, the family as a whole and then all those little possibilities of what else he'd missed. Had his parents had another litter? Had any of his siblings found a mate? Spring also made him ponder such things when he was faced with the explosion of life into the world as the natural boon of new couples and new families everywhere.

It wasn't that he was alone, after all. He had the whole of Avon, friends he'd made, other souls he had come to be protective over and care for. But despite being happy for her, Foxglove found himself jealous of knowing that Fable had been reunited with now two brothers, a sister, her mother! The feeling was repulsive to him, because of the two of them Fable had hurt infinitely more. Fable deserved to have her family reunited with her, and she needed that family to lean on. The universe had seen fit to give Fable what she needed most at the right time, and he felt confident that he could endure and be just fine. So it was with a fondness that Foxglove looked on the sight of the young lady, tail giving a little wag as he came to a stop a few feet away. Illithya was a pleasant child, he felt that she was already well on her way to growing into someone who was thoughtful and kind. It was a reflection on her mother, Fox thought, because he had always known Fable to be generous in her resources and gentle heart.

You've been quite busy, Foxglove complimented as he looked over the pile of crowns that Illithya had been working on. My Mama always made crowns for us, I never really caught on. My sister Sage figured it out - or maybe paid a bird to help her weave them, knowing her. He said with a little laugh. Who did you learn from? He asked curiously.
