The pups were beginning to run around, their long legs beginning to move easier, and their large paws getting grown into; just like that, they were growing quicker than she wanted. Wanting them to stay close, to depend on her for longer, fearing she might lose them too soon.
Today was a warmer day, warmer than what the past few had been, at least. Her coat was warmed by the sun as it peeked through the trees, and she knew today would be the only chance she got to take them up the mountain to the lake Amon had spoken of once before.
She had gathered the youngins, making sure they stayed together and that Helia or Helios didn't run off to cause chaos as they do. Her tail was low for any of them to hold onto with their teeth; each step was careful against the stony path, making sure to stamp down any plants she didn't want them to eat.

Her tone remained warm, but warned, careful of her words and the warning to not fall behind. Despite her usually long strides, she kept them smaller to match the kids trotting pace rather than hers.
