It didn’t matter that Mythris was covered in white. A striking white that was almost blinding when the sun was out. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, the sun was not out on this day. Clouds covered the sky, and not a dot of blue was to be seen.
The woman of stars and void loped out of her den quickly. The fast the movement, the quicker she could get back home. Yet something caught her attention rather quickly. It was the scent of a familiar face, Racharra. She was not exactly close. The scent was faint, carried by the wind outside of the pack, she was sure, but it was enough. Stardust felt worry fill her heart for the woman.
Stardust whined as little snowflakes fell onto her star-touched neckline. Was Racharra okay? Was she freezing out there? It was oddly cold. Way too cold. But Stardust couldn’t let her freeze. She turned back to her den, and grabbed one of the furs that Kirain recently gave her. She flung it on her back, and went on her way following the scent.
It was eerie out. Despite it being mid-day, the world was covered in the haunting mist, touched with snow falling from the sky. The silence was deafening, other than the sound of tree limbs cracking from the weight of cold sky coming to meet earth.
Stardust uses her nose, following the scent in the air as it gets stronger and stronger. Paws begin to feel numb. The wind chills to the very bone. Was she making a mistake? Stardust huffs a bit, steam coming from her breath.
”RACHARRA? ARE YOU OUT THERE?” she called out, her voice carrying despite the snow. Not even snow could quiet the lungs of Stardust.
