"A predator? I don't think I taste very good." The edges of his mouths twitch. "And I'd reckon you feel the same, since you had more than a chance to kill me." The scar along his back is a burn, not a battle scar. He knows the very basics of fighting, but more than that? Nothing. Hardly anything.
And yet, he is not afraid. If death is on his heels, he welcomes it.
"I won't get too deep into it," he continues. "Had a chance to leave my family and start a new life with a man that saved me from a fire. I chose my family. I'm wondering if it's the right choice, is all." His smile falters a bit. "Just the usual 'don't know what I'm looking for' crap. I won't bore you with all of it."
