And she puts back on her face in the morning and looks among her remaining ones. Verbena is already shaping up to be a troublemaker. Pinesprings is fantastic in every regard, one she doesn't need to keep her eye on. Pennyroyal... She needs to encourage him more. The whole "being bad at everything" shouldn't hold into adulthood, surely?

And then there's Spiderlily...

She would be lying if she said she didn't worry about the sickly child. And a journey to Northfall, which would be good for the children, would also risk Spiderlily coming down with something.
