Between the forests is a wondrous land full of colorful plants and tall stalks of sunflowers. It is easy to find oneself lost within its sprawling fields, yet in spite of this, it is rarely frightening - if anything, the endless flowers lend a sense of comfort and ease, as if one is trapped within a beautiful dream. During the warm summer months the sun casts a golden glow upon the land, bathing the landscape in brilliant rays that seem to come from another plane entirely, while twinkling fireflies dance among the sunflowers at night, creating a truly enchanting vision.

A change of plans became apparent when Geirolf lost track of his previous guide. He gave it some time for her to show herself, even trying to track down the woman himself once his patience had reached its limit. But when she couldn't be found, gone without a trace, he had given up for the time being. Instead his trails took him southward, the bitter winter still taking hold of the southern plains and small mountain ranges. Where once was flowers and grasses as far as the eye could see, now layed a barren snow covered wasteland.
The hulking wolf looked for signs of life when ever he could, scavenging on left overs here and there when the opportunity rose. He was not above such things, as it was a show of good survival skills. Not that he couldn't hunt, but it was better to take a hold of good opportunities when he saw them. On this particular morning however, it was a howl that caught his attention. Geirolf headed in the direction of the call, letting out a howl of his own in a cautious but friendly gesture. It had been some time since he ran into another wolf. With the onset of loneliness creeping up on him, perhaps it was time for a new face.
