Stormy seas and howling winds; the empress found herself seated by the shores that night once again. Rustled from her slumber by yet another horrid nightmare. Many times would the woman need to check her neck for a scar or bite mark, only to nose her fur and find nothing there. She detested this — it felt like she was going crazy. Over and over, almost every night it felt as though the woman was losing sleep. Try as she might to hide it, but her drowsiness come morning was more than evident.
At this point, she just might bury her head in these very sands and be done with it.
Just as her body swayed, exhaustion coming to its uncomfortable peak, the sound of rustling within the tropical foliage made her head snap in that direction….
