It had been forever, at least it felt like it, sense that tunnel of torture. It still lingered in the back of his mind, something he had saw, just briefly whilst leaving, a shadow like figure lingering along the walls. It didn't scare him, more confused him, he wasn't sure whom it could've been, it wasn't the gold snob he had met, he knew that.

With a slow stride, the red furred wolf walked down a slope and near slid. The snow wasn't too bad, but it was annoying, very annoying. He knew how to traverse it though, having grown in a land far north of his old home and of the military unit he once belonged to. This island was unique, having vastly different terrains, having seen from the north a few small islands only accessible to those who had skills at swimming. Far south laid another island, that looked as though it was a desert of sorts.

In his slow walk, Mercury was distracted, a weird warmth was shifting through the chilly air, seeming as if it was seeping from somewhere. Looking up from his paws, he was met with soft pink trees and a gentle warmth emitting from the path. He was unsure, but the smell of it seemed to calm his frayed nerves, urging him to step forwards more, and he did.

In a trot, Mercury let his paws carry him into the path, covered with the pink leaves and listening to the gentle sway of the trees. It was much calmer, a lot nicer than the biting cold he was just in. The farther in he got, the less uneasy he felt, until he came up to something he had forgotten about long ago.

A fountain, a water fountain to be exact, One that no longer gushed out water from it's spouts and yet still had crystal clear water. A small creeped onto his maw whilst he strode closer, jumping to stand on the lip of the concrete and stare into the water. A gentle wag bringing his tail to motion, this place was odd, the trees had taken him somewhere so old, and yet with the winter air, he was warm.
