The smile was gentle as she said he was being too positive - as if he could truly see her rejecting the potential of those who had come to Dawnbreak. Of course there was a great amount of risk too - they could of course come to be like Kuhn. They could betray the family that had taken them in, they could reject the concepts and bonds of what Dawnbreak was at it's core. I guess we can see which one of us ends up right about them, hm? It was playful, not meant to rile her at all, and regardless of how things turned out there would still be those who were family.

It was easy - like slipping on a comfortable robe - to sink down before her, and let her step on him. His tail was still swaying behind him, golden eyes keenly watching. He was glad that while it was harder for him to get around with the heavy scarring across his shoulder, that it hadn't touched his face. Tiberius might have been able to pull off his mangled appearance, but Vidarr was a touch vain. Still, from his place, he felt her weight settle upon him and had to chuckle. The dark rumble of his laughter grew as she climbed off him. I should have been better prepared - how could I not have brought you tribute to show contrition.

And then came her edict - that he had to complete tasks to prove his worth. Vidarr stayed where he was, chest to the ground, relaxed against the borders. Whatever you ask, I will do what Dawnbreak needs of me. He promised. While he was being a bit theatrical in his delivery, he was sincere - he did mean it. He was always happy to prove his loyalty and support.
